Wayman Bounces Back, Blazes to SportMod Victory

(Jun. 7, 2025) — After a wild crash in his RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car main, Cole Wayman rebounded in dramatic fashion during the Days of Thunder Clash at Eagle Raceway with a thrilling charge to the front in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature. Starting 10th, Wayman carved through a tight field and traded the lead multiple times with McClain Reed and Aiden Floyd. He ultimately used the middle groove to complete the winning pass with six laps remaining and never looked back. Reed held on for second while early leader Floyd finished third. By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 7, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds delivered one of the season’s most thrilling contests Saturday night at Maquoketa Speedway, featuring a race-long battle between two of the best in the business. Jeff “Bone” Larson and Spencer Diercks went toe-to-toe for all 20 laps, trading slide jobs and crossover moves as the lead changed hands multiple times. Larson ultimately prevailed, edging out Diercks at the checkers, while current point leader Jaden Fryer crossed the line in third. The win marked Larson’s third at Maquoketa this season and his fifth overall in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Mullen Masters Stock Car Main in $1,000 Showdown at Outagamie

The second-generation driver not only pulled off feature wins in two divisions — the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars and one of the local divisions — he also scored heat wins in both classes, earning clean sweeps in each respective division. Mullen jumped into his IMCA Stock Car to scrap for the $1,000 top prize. Starting eighth on the grid, he sliced through the field to take second place by lap seven, right behind leader Travis Van Straten. Mullen motored past the former IMCA National champion to snag the lead on lap nine. Zeitner Doubles Up at Park Jefferson with Sweep of IMCA Late Model Features

(June 6, 2025) — Zach Zeitner made it a perfect night in Sunoco IMCA Late Model action at Park Jefferson International Speedway, sweeping both features on a special Friday doubleheader. The Bellevue, Nebraska, driver claimed the regularly scheduled $1,000-to-win 25-lap feature and the rescheduled main event from the rained-out April 18 opener. In the evening’s headliner, Zeitner jumped to the lead early and was smooth and steady out front despite a couple of caution flags, including a key restart on lap 19. Kale Kosiski, the 2023 Crawford County Speedway track champion, managed to reel Zeitner in and pulled alongside with two laps to go. But Zeitner kept his composure, running the middle lane to perfection and holding off Kosiski at the finish. Eric Faber completed the podium in third. (Jun. 7, 2025) — Leevi Runge outlasted multiple restarts and late-race pressure to claim the $2,000-to-win Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature at Thunder Mountain Speedway’s Robbie Conway Memorial and the fifth night of the Tougher Than Dirt Tour. The 25-lap main event, one of the highest-paying SportMod races in North Dakota, saw Runge take the lead from the outset. The Lampman, Saskatchewan racer — a three-time Estevan Motor Speedway SportMod track champion — maintained his edge through multiple cautions and a green-white-checkered finish. By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (Jun. 6, 2025) — Kelly Shryock doubled up at Hancock County Speedway on Friday night, winning both the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and Sunoco IMCA Stock Car features. Following a dominant two-win performance during the Summer Nationals at Spencer, Shryock remained red-hot. In the Stock Car feature, Shryock capitalized on a mid-race caution to power to the front and never looked back. While he controlled the second half of the race, the action behind him was intense as Troy Jerovetz, Parker Slagle, and Justin Ades battled fiercely for position. Jerovetz prevailed in that fight to finish second, followed by Slagle in third. The win was Shryock’s sixth of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. The rookie started fourth and ran among the leaders for the first half of the 25-lap main event. A lap 16 caution for a three-car pile-up on the front stretch reset the field and opened the door for Morris. On the restart, Morris powered around early leader Chris Lawrence to take command. (Jun. 6, 2025) — The 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Ocean Speedway was packed with action and lead changes that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Robert Marsh set a torrid pace during the opening stages, pulling away to a healthy lead. Like most main events on the night, however, several restarts slowed the field and reset the deck. With seven circuits complete, Jonathan Hagio powered into the lead and held command until there were 10 laps remaining. Salinas legend Bobby Hogge had methodically worked his way to the front, taking over second with 13 laps down. Hogge then went to work on Hagio and claimed the top spot on lap 16. (Jun. 7, 2025) — A new era begins at Park Jefferson International Speedway as the RTI Nationals shifts its spotlight to the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, which headline this year’s program with a lucrative $5,000-to-win and $250-to-start main event on Sunday, June 15. “The RTI Nationals has historically been a SportMod show, and they’re still a big part of the program going for good money,” said Park Jefferson promoter Wayne Becker. “But this year we wanted to try something different and give the Stock Cars a major spotlight.
