Registration opens July 15 for IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (July 12, 2024) – Go ahead and set your alarm for 9 a.m. CST Monday, July 15. That’s the time drivers in seven divisions can begin pre-entering for the 42nd annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Links to driver registration, pit stall reservations and camping forms are posted at www.imcasupernationals.com. Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod, Sport Compact, Late Model and Mod Lite drivers must register online for the Sept. 2-7 Super Nationals at Boone Speedway. Drivers have to have a valid 2024 IMCA license and are required to register for Super Nationals before reserving a pit stall or stalls. Registration fees of $50 for Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods and Mod Lites, and $25 for Sport Compacts include entry fees for the Aug. 31-Sept. 1 Prelude. Points paces opening night of Western SportMod Nationals

(July 11, 2024) – Thursday was the inaugural Western SportMod Nationals opening leg at Yreka Speedway for one of the country’s biggest paying Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod races. Over 50 entries from across the country journeyed to the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds ¼-mile clay oval. Buddy Kniss took an early lead at the start of the feature. The race heated up a few laps in as Ethan Killingsworth moved unsuccessfully to overtake the second-running Trevor Points. The tension was broken when a caution was raised after six circuits. Points launched a challenge for the lead against Kniss as the race resumed. The two engaged in a fierce battle, with Points eventually seizing the top spot, on lap nine. Meanwhile, a race for third unfolded between Killingsworth and Jeffrey Hudson, who eventually secured the position. On lap 11, Killingsworth rebounded beautifully with a brilliant double overtake past Hudson and Kniss to become the new runner-up. Thursday Night Thunder wins to Rust, Murty, Kuehl, Filloon, Brown, and Grady

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 11, 2024) – It was KIX 101.1 Thursday Night Thunder at the Marshalltown Speedway on a Central Iowa Fair hot and humid night, instead of their usual Friday night show. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars were running for a $1,000 payday and it was Dallon Murty taking home that prize. Joel Rust returned to victory lane in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Taylor Kuehl bested the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. A first-time winner ever at Marshalltown was Dustin Filloon in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Charlie Brown had the field covered in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites and Cristian Grady got his second win of the year in the IMCA Mach-1 Sport Compacts. Feature winners during the evening were Curtis Towns in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Jesse Williamson in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. The Modified main got off to a thrilling start as Steven Sturdevant and Braedon Hand battled in the opening corner and Kevin Williamson made it a three-wide tussle for first place in turns three and four. Hand was first at the line on the opening lap while Towns made a blitzing move to grab second just before a lap two yellow. Towns pursed Hand after the restart with several challenges underneath the leader. As the frontrunners squared off, Paul Rea stayed close behind waiting for his own opportunity. VINTON, Iowa (July 10, 2024) – Benton County Speedway marks a milestone event this Sunday, hosting the 10th annual Urbana 5 Memorial. Five IMCA sanctioned divisions are on the card for the July 14 special, held to remember the five area youth killed in a 2015 traffic accident near Urbana, and to encourage people to become organ and tissue donors. An Iowa Donor Network representative will be located in a booth under the grandstand at The Bullring that evening. WORTHINGTON, Minn. (July 10, 2024) – Worthington Speedway and the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division remember one of their own next Tuesday. The July 16 Jim Larson Memorial main event for The Class Too Tough To Tame pays out a top prize of $5,000 and a minimum of $250 to start, with the winner earning a guaranteed starting spot in the upcoming B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational as well. Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods are also on the card, racing for $3,000 to win. Racing, fireworks beat rain at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 6, 2024) – Track staff worked quickly to beat the incoming rain just west of Arlington Raceway to ensure the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing program was complete and the NAPA fireworks show done. They accomplished those tasks in record time as the rains came just as the last colors hit the sky. Drivers did an excellent job in all divisions as there was some great racing action throughout the night. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature saw 24 cars start the feature and it was a dandy as Dakota Robinson and Brent Uecker raced side-by-side throughout, with each leading at the line and then trading positions. As the white flag was going to be displayed, a yellow came out for a stalled car next to the front wall. When the cars realigned it was Uecker and Robinson battling again.
