Mod Lites of Arkansas checkers to Vowan at Crowley’s Ridge Racing For the Paws event

PARAGOULD, Ark. (June 17, 2023) – Bryce Vowan won the inaugural Mod Lites of Arkansas Racing For The Paws event at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway. Making their first ever visit to Crowley’s Ridge, the MLA kicked off the night’s festivities helping raise much-needed pet food, supplies and kitty litter for the Greene County Animal Farm. Racers and fans donated a truckload of supplies to the shelter, located near the Paragould track. With 28 Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites on hand from Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois and Tennessee, fans got to see the many of the top stars of the division attempt tackle Trent Francis’ Crowley’s Ridge Raceway. VINTON, Iowa (June 26, 2023) – Another 42 IMCA rookies will receive $100 Speedway Motors gift cards following career-first feature wins in their respective divisions. July 1 deadline for IMCA rookie of the year applications

VINTON, Iowa (June 21, 2023) – Eligible drivers who have not already done so have until 4:30 p.m. CST Saturday, July 1 to run for rookie of the year. IMCA names national Modified, Late Model, Sprint Car, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Mod Lite, Northern and Southern SportMod, and Sport Compact rookies of the year and regional Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock rookies of the year. Drivers who have not raced 10 or more times in their respective divisions and meet all other eligibility requirements who did not indicate rookie status when filling out their 2023 IMCA license application can call the home office at 310 472-2201 extension 215 or email Director of Points and Membership Virginia Lindsey at vlindsey@imca.com. Speedway Motors is among the IMCA sponsors giving awards to rookie competitors again this season, presenting $100 gift cards to those drivers following career-first feature wins. Make-up feature wins to Logue and Fye before Mother Nature comes calling at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 17, 2023) – Make-up features for last week’s rain out at Boone Speedway were completed before Mother Nature spoiled the rest of the night’s festivities Saturday evening. These were run before the regular weekly show began. Johnathon Logue won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and it was Aron Fye taking top honors in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Both features went flag to flag. The Stock Cars ran their 20-lap make up feature first and Logue led all but the opening laps.  He got around Lonnie Hodges on lap six and then went on to claim the top spot the rest of the way to the checkers. McBirnie McMasters IMCA Modifieds at MoTown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 16, 2023) – Jake McBirnie pocketed $1,000 for his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win on Friday, Midwest Liquid Systems Night at the Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway. McBirnie started on the outside front row in the 20-lap Night after the Creek main event and leaped to the immediate lead when the race went green. He would go on to lead every lap on his way to the checkers to capture his first win at the speedway this season along with qualifying eligibility for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Joel Rust and Maguire DeJong had a good battle going on behind McBirnie, with Rust winning out for second and DeJong taking third. Tripp Gaylord started 14th and finished fourth, and Paul Nagle completed the top five. IMCA Stock Car win at US 36 is first for Smith

By Rick Staley OSBORN, Mo. (June 16, 2023) – The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature at US 36 Raceway saw side-by-side racing and a first-time visitor to victory lane Friday night. Carson Masoner took the early lead and pulled away from the field with Brad Derry, Matthew Lance and Nate Barnes nipping at his heels. He continued to lead until Randy Smith Jr. found the fast line around the track and took over at the front. Smith, who has won in about everything except an IMCA Stock Car, did not look back nor was he denied in picking up his first-ever feature win in The Class Too Tough To Tame at US 36 Raceway. Lance placed a very close second with Barnes crossing in third. The Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite feature ended with Dillon Raffurty back in victory lane.

Mod Lites of Arkansas, Crowley’s Ridge Racing For The Paws this Saturday night

PARAGOULD, Ark. (June 14, 2023) – This Saturday night, June 17, the Mod Lites of Arkansas, a Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite series, will be making its series debut at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway for the first annual Racing For The Paws while raising needed pet food and supplies for the Greene County Animal Farm.  Already home to the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, this will mark the second time in the speed plant’s 30-plus year history that another IMCA sanctioned division will participate at the historic race track operated by the Francis family for generations. “We are really excited to welcome new racers and fans to our community. Smith tops Hawkeye Challenge, Mills, Lopez and May see checkers before Mother Nature wins at Boone

June 10, 2023 By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 10, 2023) – Boone Speedway held its Hawkeye Challenge, one of the most unique races in the country, pitting six different classes of cars all racing at one time Saturday night. The overall winner was Mike Smith in his IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock. The Hawkeye Challenge was run before features and 21 cars were scheduled to start, qualified through track points and through heat racing earlier in the evening. Classes were staggered by lap count, with the lone Sprint Car of Mike Houseman needing to complete 25 laps, the Modifieds 23 laps, SportMods and Mod Lites 22 laps, Stock Cars 21 laps, and the Hobby Stocks 20 laps. When the dust cleared in the race that went non-stop, it was Smith in his Hobby Stock taking pocketing the $1,000 top prize. Other class winners were Josh May in the Mod Lites, Johnathon Logue in the Stock Cars, Jeremy Mills in the Modifieds, Kaylin Lopez in Northern SportMods, and Houseman in the Sprint Car.
