Saturday win is first of season for Thornton at Iowa’s Action Track

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 22, 2024) – Dylan Thornton was a first-time winner this season Saturday at Boone Speedway, while Austin Bouzek, Eric Knutson and Cam Reimers and Travis Stensland all returned to victory lane at Iowa’s Action Track. Features kicked off with 15 laps of Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite racing. Randy Bryan, in the Austin Gray machine, led the field for lap one and then a caution flew. When the race returned to green, it was Cory Sonner taking over the top spot with Stensland soon in tow. The two battled it out for several laps before Stensland took over at the flag stand when lap nine went into the books. From there on out, it was all Stensland’s race. He pulled away to a healthy lead in the closing laps to take his third win of the season. Sonner finished a distant second. McBirnie hits all his marks in IMCA Modified main at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 21, 2024) – It was a hot and humid night at Marshalltown Speedway on Friday, where it was Midwest Liquid Systems night at the races. One hundred forty-seven cars came to play. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds were running for $1,000 to the winner and Jake McBirnie, already Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible, ran the track perfectly on his way to that victory.  Damon Murty saw victory lane for the first time in the regular season when he won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Logan Anderson got the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod win and Eric Stanton took the accolades in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Cory Sonner won in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites and Mitchell Bunch returned to the winner’s circle when he took the checkers in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Sauerman scores first Boone win of season

By Joyce Eisele  BOONE, Iowa (June 15, 2024) – It was Farley’s Pre-owned Night at Boone Speedway on Saturday, and despite the gloomy forecast of rain/storms, it was no issue for the racing program and in particular for Cory Sauerman who took his first local Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the year. Doug Smith took the honors in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for the second time, and also making return visits to victory lane were Cam Reimers in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, Eric Knutson in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Ben George in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. The Mod Lites rolled to the track first for their 15-lap feature event. Scott Bailey led the troops through the first seven laps of the event but seventh place starter George had quickly risen to challenge him and took command at lap eight. Murty takes Money Month IMCA Modified win at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 14, 2024) – It was P & D Welding Night at the Marshalltown Speedway on Friday night with a good field of 124 cars checked in that provided the fans with some exciting racing action.  June is Money Month for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and it was the “Game Changer” Dallon Murty taking home the $1,000 feature win. Steve Meyer got back to victory lane in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Brayton Carter was dominant in his win in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Calvin Dhondt repeated his win from last week in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. McBirnie, Kuehl are roofless in runs to big money at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 8, 2024) – Fans at Iowa’s Action Track were treated to the annual topless racing spectacular Saturday night, as both Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods ran sans roofs. The Capital Signs Co. Dirty 30’s saw the roofs and sails removed from both divisions as they raced for $1,200 for the Modified victory and $1,000 for the SportMods. Jake McBirnie and Taylor Kuehl got the distinct honors of taking home those prizes. Johnathon Logue clawed his way to the front and took checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Braden Gifford got his first-ever win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks in a wild and crazy race, and Charlie Brown got back to victory lane in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Rust, Paris are sharp in topless shows at Marshalltown

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (June 7, 2024) – Marshalltown Speedway was host to the first of two Twin Topless Dirty 30 races Friday night. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance Northern SportMods both removed their tops for the unique race program. Mother Nature tried to stop the fun, but a few sprinkles during the SportMod feature, didn’t stop the show, and racing action returned quickly. Last corner pass scores Boone win for McBirnie

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 1, 2024) – Saturday night at Boone Speedway, the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars raced in memory of Eloise Davis, wife of Greg Davis, and mother of Scott Davis. The Class Too Tough To Tame had 43 cars checked in on the night honoring the Davis family.   Jimmy Gustin got his second feature win of the year in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified division and Jake McBirnie took the thrilling last corner pass win in the Stocks. Matt Avila found victory lane for the second time this year in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and John Watson was the winner in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. Ben George won the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite main.
