IMCA Super Nationals entries top 1,000 for third straight year

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 28, 2024) – Early entries for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s have raced past the 1,000 mark for a third consecutive year. Late Model driver Sean Johnson of Independence, the Super Nationals Stock Car champion in 2011, became the 1,000th driver to pre-register for the Sept. 2-7 Super Nationals at Boone Speedway on Wednesday morning. The Stock Cars (275), STARS Mod Lites (77) and Late Models (24) have all topped individual division records. Entries for the are now in hand from 29 states, two Canadian provinces and Australia. NAPA Auto Parts will Double Down for the Prelude and the IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 27, 2024) – After the long time sponsor of the Double Down Prelude decided to go a different direction, it only took a five-minute conversation with Kendall Davis, district manager with NAPA Auto Parts, to add their brand to the Aug. 31-Sept. 1 event leading into the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.  “The phone rang, and it was not the call I was expecting from (Boone Speedway announcer) Jerry Vansickel,” stated Davis. “He said, ‘Have I got a deal for you!’” After a short conversation, the two worked out the details to expand NAPA’s already great marketing partnership with Super Nationals and add it to the Prelude. Murty doubles up at Boone, Lathrop takes First Timer win

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 24, 2024) – Boone Speedway saw its annual Watermelon Classic, P1P Challenge, and First Time Winner Night on Saturday at the track. Dallon Murty doubled up by winning the Watermelon Classic and the P1P features in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds. Cody Gustoff won his first IMCA Sunoco Stock feature and it was Cam Reimers taking the honors in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Mike Smith went back to victory lane for winning another IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature and it was Josh May leading flag to flag in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite main event. Extra laps were added to the feature events, extra money was on the line, and of course the drivers were awarded the sought after watermelon! Showdown in Motown ushers in holiday weekend racing action

Off-track Super Nationals activities centered at NAPA Fan Zone

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 23, 2024) – The NAPA Racing Fan Zone is again the locale for many of the special off-track events during the week of the 42nd annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway. Located south of the main grandstand at Boone Speedway, the Fan Zone will be site of scheduled and perhaps some spontaneous activities beginning with the Sunday, Sept. 1 Prelude show and continuing through the Sept. 2-7 Super Nationals. “What’s new this year is the Tuesday afternoon Women in IMCA presented by NAPA and Dynamic Drivelines,” noted Carson Becker-Gramm, marketing integration and sponsorship director for IMCA. “Female drivers have played an important role in this organization for more than 40 years. Boone track titles to McBirnie, Smith, Smith, Masolini, Glick

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 19, 2024) – It was the Season Championship Saturday night at Boone Speedway, ending the 2024 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season at Iowa’s Action Track. Feature racing saw the top six in points locked in for the night and inverted for their start. The rest of the main event lineups were determined through heat races. Each division was brought to the frontstretch prior to their feature event, with out of car introductions. Each division had five laps added to their features. The Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite 20-lap feature was up first. Ben George grabbed the lead when the race went green and it was to his liking. He led all 20 laps on his way in the caution-free event, for his fourth checkers of the year. Cory Sonner followed him most of the distance to take second place. Josh May finished a distant third. Six track champions crowned at Marshalltown Speedway

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 16, 2024) – It was the N 3rd Avenue Dairy Queen Larry Wollam Season Championship night Friday at Marshalltown Speedway and six track champions were crowned.  Out-of-car introductions were made for all features. The point leader in each division drew for the way the feature would be lined up …4, 6, 8 or the complete field inverted.   First to the track were the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. The draw was for the field to be inverted. Six extra laps were added making it a 22-lap main event and putting point leader Brayton Carter to start at the rear. When the race went green, it was outside front row starter Ryan Leeman taking the lead.  A yellow flew on lap three when Will Wolf lost a wheel and by this time Carter had already made his way up to third place. Contingency awards top $60,000 for upcoming IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 16, 2024) – Drivers competing at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s will be in the running for the most exclusive titles in all of dirt track racing, as well as approximately $60,000 worth of contingency awards given by IMCA and event sponsors.
