By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Jul. 4, 2025) — The $1,300 dollar first place prize money drew an excellent field of very talented Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds to the 4/10th mile dirt track CJ Speedway located on the Louisa County Fairgrounds. The 20 lap feature was dominated by past National Modified champion Jeff Larson from Freeport, Illinois. Larson took advantage of a great start from the outside of the front row and put the P.J. Kostenbader-owned no. B1 on the top side of the smooth track and sailed on to the feature win over some of the best Modified drivers in the Midwest. Larson has managed to score seven wins in the Razor Chassis North Central Region in 2025. By Joe Orsini SEYMOUR, Wis. (Jul. 4, 2025) – As the calendar flipped from June to July, temperatures rose—and so did the excitement at Outagamie Speedway. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event saw Cody Schroeder lead the opening lap from the front row. That lead was short-lived, though, as Skyler Woods blasted the high side on lap two and rocketed into the top spot. Schroeder finished second with Dylan Waldvogel rounding out the podium in third. Schnitzer Scores Grays Harbor Win, Takes Over Modified Points Lead

By Shaun Hulburt ELMA, Wash. (Jun. 28, 2025) — Jason Tole showed early speed by leading the opening lap of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Grays Harbor Raceway, but Brenton Schnitzer stole the spotlight with a thrilling move on lap one. Schnitzer executed a daring two-for-one pass to take second, then quickly powered into the lead on lap two. From there, he was never challenged en route to his second win of the 2025 season at GHR and in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Zane Miner had a determined drive, rallying from 10th despite front-end damage that left parts dangling from his machine. Miner made it to second but ran out of time to track down Schnitzer. Jake Sorenson rounded out the podium in third. With back-to-back tough nights for Tyson Blood, Schnitzer now holds the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified point lead at Grays Harbor by just two markers. The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV affiliate Grays Harbor Raceway TV. Catch every lap again with the IMCA TV Replay Subscription, available for [Read More]

Wyssbrod Breaks Through at Angell Park for First Career Modified Win

By Ben Deatherage SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (Jun. 29, 2025) – Brandon Schmitt looked poised to become a three-time winner at Angell Park Speedway on Sunday night, but Monroe’s Trent Wyssbrod had other plans. Schmitt took the lead from Hayden Schmuhl on lap two of the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature and led through the race’s only caution on lap six. Wyssbrod applied steady pressure following the restart and ran door-to-door with Schmitt for multiple laps before dropping back with about 10 to go. But lapped traffic changed everything with two laps remaining. Both Schmitt and Wyssbrod cleared the slower cars cleanly, but Wyssbrod got the run he needed and drove underneath the two-time King of the Park winner on the backstretch coming to the white flag. He would lead at both the white and checkered flags to secure his first-ever IMCA Modified victory and a $1,000 payday in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Wyssbrod started third in the feature. Schmitt settled for a strong runner-up finish, with Derek Thompson completing the top three. The [Read More]

Cody Kalmer: Digging Deep On and Off the Track

By Ben Deatherage WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (Jul. 2, 2025) — For Cody Kalmer, every lap behind the wheel is built on grit — both on the dirt and deep underground. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified driver from Winnemucca, Nevada, spends the middle of the week more than a mile below the earth’s surface as an underground gold miner. Come the weekend, he’s racing above ground, chasing checkered flags at tracks like Winnemucca Regional Raceway, Summit Raceway in Elko, and Lovelock Speedway. “I got to run Lovelock once in 2020 and then they shut down,” said Kalmer. “So I was excited they came back a few years ago. My friend Zach Cail and his stepdad Brett Wilkins have done a great job running that place, and Jeff Olschewka is giving us a great surface.” Kalmer’s journey into racing began not behind the wheel, but behind the fence. “I was never really part of the racing community. I used to just watch here at Winnemucca and thought, ‘You know what, it’d be cool to get a car of my [Read More]

Meirhofer Masters MODtana Madness in $5,000 Modified Thriller at Gallatin

By Ben Deatherage BELGRADE, Mont. (Jun. 28, 2025) — Jeremy Meirhofer came out on top of a wild 55-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature to win the 2025 edition of MODtana Madness at Gallatin Speedway and earn the $5,000 payday. Two-time Montana State champion Cory Craver paced the field early, grabbing the lead on lap one and holding firm through several interruptions. Craver navigated lapped traffic by lap eight and held back a strong charge from two-time and reigning track champion Jordan Tocci following a caution on lap 14. A scheduled fuel stop at lap 23 briefly reset the field. On the restart, Craver kept Tocci behind him again before another pair of cautions on laps 28 and 34 bunched up the pack. Craver took advantage of the battle between Tocci and four-time Montana State champion and five-time Gallatin Speedway titlist Jeremy Meirhofer to extend his lead. Tocci eventually cleared Meirhofer and caught Craver, making a pass for the lead on lap 46. Craver immediately countered with a crossover in turns three and four, but a [Read More]

Andersen Slices Through the Field for Modified Glory at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Jun. 28, 2025) — Chad Andersen was on a mission in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Eagle Raceway. Cameron Thompson led the opening circuits with Tyler Harr close behind, but all eyes were on Andersen, who steadily picked off cars one by one. He cracked the top three by lap five and slipped into second a few laps later. By lap 12, he powered around Thompson for the lead and immediately began to stretch it out. From there, Andersen hit his marks and left the rest of the field to battle behind him. Harr gave chase but never closed the gap as the laps clicked off. Thompson stayed solid in third to round out the podium. The win marked Andersen’s second of the season at Eagle and in the Jet Racing Central Region column. Berry Blazes Field in Marshalltown Modified Main Event

By Kaden Krebs MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Jun. 27, 2025) — The nightcap proved to be a scorcher as the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds roared onto the track. Dustin Kroening sat on the pole, with Jake McBirnie to his outside. But it was Marshalltown native Tom Berry Jr. who made quick work of the field, grabbing the lead early and leaving the rest behind. Berry cruised to a dominant win in the 20-lap finale, while Kollin Hibdon and McBirnie completed the podium. The win was Berry’s third of the season, coming at three different tracks, with two scored in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Carter Slides to SportMod Supremacy Fans were treated to a slide-job clinic in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods. Kaden Rice of Mitchellville started from the pole with Boone’s Matt Avila alongside. Avila led early, but caution flags gave Brayton Carter the openings he needed.
