Gallaher Charges to First SportMod Victory of Season at Ocean

By Gary Thomas WATSONVILLE, Calif. (Jun. 13, 2025) — The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods once again brought out the best car count of the night at Ocean Speedway, with 16 total racers on hand. A trio of different leaders were seen in another outstanding main event. Jim DiGiovanni led the opening laps before Max Baggett made the move around him on lap three. San Jose’s Rob Gallaher, however, would not be denied. The driver of the X mount blasted into the top spot on lap six and never looked back—despite a late green-white-checkered restart. Danny Wagner and Bo Crebs stayed close, but Gallaher held strong to collect the win—his first of the season. Wagner and Crebs completed the podium. Hogge Rallies Late for Fourth Ocean Modified Win The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature delivered wild moments throughout the 25-lap contest. James Claims First Southern Oregon Score in IMCA Wild West Speedweek Opener

By Ben Deatherage WHITE CITY, Ore. (Jun. 14, 2025) — Ryan Peery set the early pace from the pole in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Southern Oregon Speedway, driving the Morgan Creswell-owned No. 5K as part of the opening leg of the 2025 IMCA Wild West Speedweek. Eston Whisler took command on lap six but suffered mechanical issues that ended his night, giving the lead back to the 2022 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod track champion, Peery. That allowed 2022 Speedweek and 2019 Shaw Race Cars Western Region champion Bricen James to begin applying pressure. Driving the Schram Motorsports no. 13, James made several attempts to pass on the bottom but was interrupted by three cautions. On lap 22, he finally completed the pass and took control. James, from Albany, started eighth and never looked back, claiming his first career Speedweek win at Southern Oregon Speedway, 12th overall series win, third Shaw Race Cars Western Region victory of the year, and first at SOS in 2025. Two-time defending champion Collen Winebarger rallied from 10th to [Read More]

Dinsmore Dominates for Wednesday Modified Win at I-37

By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Jun. 11, 2025) – The opening night of I-37 Speedway’s three-race Wednesday mini-series for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds put $1,000 on the line, and Logan Dinsmore made sure no one else came close to touching it. After redrawing the pole, Dinsmore jumped out front at the drop of the green when Dean Abbey brushed the front stretch wall. Abbey lost momentum, allowing Cody Leonard to slip into second. Jared Maupin worked by both Abbey and Leonard to grab the runner-up spot, with Abbey quickly reclaiming third and setting his sights on Maupin. While Maupin and Abbey diced for second, Dinsmore stretched his advantage. By halfway, the Kerrville hotshoe had checked out entirely. Abbey finally got around Maupin late, but it was too little, too late to challenge the leader. Dinsmore, flawless in traffic, cruised to his first GRT Race Cars South Central Region win of the season. Abbey and Maupin rounded out the top three.

Callahan Cruises to Second Dubuque Late Model Win, Takes Sunoco Bonus

By Ben Deatherage DUBUQUE, Iowa (Jun. 8, 2025) — Joel Callahan put on a clinic in the 25-lap, $1,000-to-win Sunoco IMCA Late Model main event at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. The three-time track champion used the high line to power into the lead on the opening circuit and built a commanding advantage on the historic 3/8-mile oval. Despite persistent pressure from Clay Simpson, Callahan looked unshakable. Simpson’s challenge cooled as Ron Klein took over second and began to close in. But Klein’s charge ended with a spin in turn four on lap 22, setting up a three-lap sprint to the finish. Callahan executed a flawless restart to earn his second Dubuque win of the season and the coveted Sunoco Race Fuels Bonus, which included a commemorative door panel, fuel jug, hat, and $300 prize. Simpson held on for second over two-time defending track champion Eric Pollard. Joel Callahan celebrates in victory lane after scoring the $1,000 Sunoco IMCA Late Model win on June 8 at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. Blood Edges Patterson in Photo Finish at Sunset

By Jeremy Means BANKS, Ore. (Jun. 7, 2025) – The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds headlined the night at Sunset Speedway Park, and what a show it was. Both the reigning Oregon and Washington state champions were in the house, and the action lived up to the billing. Oregon’s Carter Patterson set a torrid pace out front that could’ve gone unnoticed—if not for the war that broke out behind him for positions two through five. David Day, John Gaynor, Tyson Blood, and Devon Reed were locked in a relentless battle, often racing under a blanket and using multiple grooves across the Bullring. By the time Tumwater, Washington’s Tyson Blood finally broke through to second, he faced a mountain: a four-second gap to the leader, lap traffic, and just 15 laps remaining. But the driver of the no. 97TB wasn’t backing down. Lap after lap, Blood chipped away at the deficit. Catching the leader is one thing—passing is another. By the time he reached the rear bumper of Patterson’s no. 47 machine, the white flag was waving. What [Read More]

Lamphere Charges to Second Win After Wild Woodhull Modified Feature

By Joe Cook WOODHULL, N.Y. (Jun. 7, 2025) – A string of early cautions slowed the start of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Woodhull Raceway, setting the stage for a dramatic and unpredictable main event. Shawn Bruce led the opening laps before mechanical trouble forced him to the back of the field, bringing out a yellow. That handed the lead to Jakub Ingham, who paced the field for a couple circuits until longtime Street Stock veteran Earl Zimmer muscled his way into the top spot. But heartbreak struck again—Zimmer’s car suffered a rear-end failure that ended his night prematurely. Ingham regained the lead, but his challenge was just beginning. Keith Lamphere, charging forward with momentum, closed in and eventually made the pass to take over the top spot. Lamphere then held off all challengers to score his second win of the season at Woodhull and second overall in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region. Ingham settled for a strong runner-up finish, with Jacob McConnell crossing the line third.
