Belec Leads the Way in the Modifieds at Colby

By Sheldon Wickwar COLBY, Kan. (July 18, 2025) – The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds closed out Friday’s program with a 15-lap feature event that began with Danny Keller and John Fabrizius on the front row. Fabrizius paced the field early and led the opening circuit, but ‘90s standout Mike Bainter stormed to the point on lap two, leading for the first time since his return to racing last season. Eddie Belec and Dakota Sproul wasted no time charging to the front, taking control by lap three. Belec held firm out front the rest of the way, even as lapped traffic allowed Sproul to close the gap late in the race. Belec stayed smooth to notch his second Jet Racing Central Region win of the season—both coming at Thomas County Speedway. Sproul settled for second, followed by Dylan Sherfick in third. Porter Keeps Pressure on in Sport Compacts The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts battled it out for 12 laps, with Nathan Vollbracht and Grant Logue leading the field to green. Earl Zimmer and Shawn Bruce, starting on the front row, brought the field to green. Head flagger Brock Matthews quickly threw the first yellow, waving off the initial start he didn’t like. Meidinger Scores First Career Stock Car Win at Dacotah

By Becca Pelkey MANDAN, N.D. (July 18, 2025) – When the green flag waved in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Dacotah Speedway, Shawn Strand charged to the lead entering the first corner. An early caution regrouped the field, and on the ensuing restart, Matt Dosch drove past Todd Carter for second. Dosch then set his sights on Strand, and the two raced door-to-door for the top spot. Meanwhile, Jason Meidinger was on the move from the 13th starting position. With just four laps to go, Meidinger powered by Dosch for second and went to work on the leader. He dove low under Strand and the two veterans ran side-by-side in the closing laps. Meidinger held the advantage in turns one and two, while Strand maintained momentum through three and four. At the line, it was Meidinger claiming his first career Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature win in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Strand settled for second, with Dosch completing the podium. Richards Rallies From 17th to Victory in Wild Eagle Stock Car Feature

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (July 19, 2025) — It took three tries to get the feature going for the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at Eagle Raceway, and when it finally did, it turned into one of the most thrilling races of the night. A massive seven-car pileup in turn four on the original start and a second pileup on the restart shook up the field early. Once the action finally found rhythm, Travis Patterson took command with Dana Deeke and Tim Drake following. But the driver to watch was Mason Richards, who charged from his 17th starting spot like a man on a mission. Richards steadily reeled in the leaders and took control with six circuits to go, overcoming an early 1.4-second gap to Patterson. Chad Andersen mounted a late rally of his own, swapping spots with Deeke as the two battled hard for third. At the line, Richards secured his sixth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season and third Stock Car win at Eagle in 2025. Patterson and Andersen were second [Read More]

Reinwald Returns to Victory Lane in Modifieds at Outagamie

By Joe Orsini SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 18, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Outagamie Speedway kicked off with Russ Reinwald jumping to the early lead, looking poised to cruise to a win. But smooth sailing wasn’t in the cards for Reinwald, as Suamico’s Johnny “The Hitman” Whitman charged from sixth to second by lap three, setting up a showdown between two seasoned veterans. A lap five caution bunched the field, and the second half of the race turned into a thrilling display of contrasting lines—Reinwald up top, Whitman glued to the tires down low. In the end, Reinwald held strong and fended off Whitman for his first victory of the season at Outagamie and in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Cody Schroeder rounded out the podium in third. Czarapata Holds Off Mroczkowski in Stock Car Stunner Brandon Czarapata, a former IMCA National champion, rocketed to the lead of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature and dominated the early laps. Ryan Cashes In Late to Win Wild Late Model Main at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 18, 2025) – Friday night at Davenport Speedway belonged to the first-timers — at least for 2025. Three feature winners parked in victory lane for the first time this season on the banks of the Mississippi, led by Matt Ryan in the Sunoco IMCA Late Models. The headline event looked more like a game of musical chairs than a race to the checkers. Jesse Bodin paced the opening circuit before Joe Beal charged to the front and appeared strong, only to pull off after five laps. Bodin resumed the lead for a short stint, but was soon overtaken by Bryce Garnhart, who took control until mechanical issues ended his bid on lap 15. Bodin again inherited the top spot, but Matt Ryan had worked his way into the mix and made his move on lap 22. The Dubuque driver led the final four circuits to claim his first Late Model win of the season at the ¼-mile oval, and 25th career victory at Davenport. The win was also Ryan’s second [Read More]

This was the first racing action the West Liberty Raceway half-mile had seen in 2025. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature went all twenty laps caution-free. Spencer Diercks of Davenport would lead the entire distance and was never challenged in the race, finishing with a six second advantage over second place. The victory was Diercks’ eighth win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Second through fifth was where the action took place during the main. Kurt Kile, with the home field advantage, finished in the runner-up position. Chris Zogg took third. Plummer Breaks Through with First SportMod Victory of Season Tim Plummer of Norway, Iowa, captured the win in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods.
