B & B All-Star eligible list adds a dozen drivers

VINTON, Iowa (May 31, 2024) – Add a dozen IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers to the list of those eligible to qualify for the upcoming B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. Ricky Thornton Jr. earned a guaranteed start on the grid for that race with his win at Clay County Fair Speedway’s Quarter Million Dollar Challenge. Kyle Clough scored big at Lincoln County’s NASCAR Night show and Casey Woken topped Dawson County Raceway’s Governor’s Cup show. Monday Madness checkers at Independence flew for Tom Schmitt. Kyle Frederick was first across the stripe in the Too Tough To Tame race at Shawano Speedway and Hancock County Speedway Spring Fling honors belonged to Troy Swearingen. Fast Shafts All-Star eligible list adds 15 despite wet May

VINTON, Iowa (May 31, 2024) – Flood gates of another kind opened despite a wet month of May, as another 15 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers became eligible to qualify for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Checkers flew for Tripp Gaylord at Stuart Speedway’s Blackberry Brandy Brawl. Holiday winners were Tyson Blood at Grays Harbor Raceway’s Modified Clash, Andrew Pearce at Southern Oregon Speedway’s R. Charles Snyder Salute, Bobby Hogge at Stockton Dirt Track’s Al Miller Memorial and Matt Werner in the Memorial Day Madness show at Davenport Speedway. Drake Findley and Brint Hartwick ventured to Oklahoma and Texas, respectively, to top All Star Shootout features. Drivers who won weekly races paying $1,000 or more included Tyler Allen, Jarrett Brown, Cole Czarneski, Shane DeMey, Kyle Heckman, Drew Janssen, Austin Kuehl and Randy McDaniel. IMCA Modified winner at Crystal to cash $1,500 check

CRYSTAL, Mich. (May 30, 2024) – Allstar Performance sponsors the Fast Shafts All-Star race and kids get autographs from all their favorite drivers this Saturday at Crystal Motor Speedway. The June 1 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature pays $1,500 to win, $1,000 for second, a minimum of $175 to finish in the top 10 and $150 for 11th through 20th place. Saturday’s show is draw/redraw. The winner becomes eligible to qualify for the upcoming Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational while the hard charger pockets $200 courtesy of Prime FX and Hilliard Heating and Air Conditioning. Drivers will sign autographs and hand out treats during Kids’ Night in the pits, sponsored by Artesian Well Produce and Spring Water, from 5-6 p.m. Pit passes are $35 and adult spectator admission is $15. Memorial Weekend checkers fly for Rohleder

By Sheldon Wickwar HAYS, Kan. (May 25, 2024) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win number one of the season for Kyle Rohleder came Saturday night at RPM Speedway. The 2022 track champion at Hays got the lead on just the second circuit and held off a bevy of challengers before collecting his career 65th checkers in the class. Their 20-lap feature had started with a front row of Trevor Geist and Don Geist. Trevor gained the early advantage but quickly Rohleder settled into second place and took the lead on lap two. By lap four, Dylan Sherfick found third place and a lap later got by Trevor Geist for second. Jeremy Frenier got to third just before a caution came out. Sherfick and Rohleder raced side-by-side for the lead at halfway. Another caution came after Rohleder had again solidified the lead once but he slammed the door shut the last five times around the oval, winning in front of Sherfick and Daniel Gottschalk. $250 Sunoco bonus at stake Sunday for IMCA Late Models at Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 29, 2024) – IMCA Late Model drivers get their next chance to race for a $250 bonus from divisional title sponsor Sunoco Race Fuels this Sunday at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. Sunoco also gives a five gallon fuel jug to the bonus winner. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods complete the sanctioned portion of the June 2 race program. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional, Iowa State and track points will be awarded. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. and racing follows 6 p.m. hot laps. Weekly racing, candy dash on tap this Sunday at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 29, 2024) – Race night will be a little sweeter this Sunday at Benton County Speedway. Along with the IMCA Weekly Racing program, the annual candy dash will be held on the front stretch during intermission Sunday, June 2. The candy dash, which established a new Guinness World Record just a couple years ago, is always popular for the younger race fans in attendance. Racing action will include Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. In addition to the weekly divisions, the INEX Legends will be in action for the first time this season at The Bullring. Loverude tops IMCA Modifieds at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 25, 2024) – Trent Loverude led 19 of the 20 laps, including the most important one, in Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway. Loverude powered to the lead on the first circuit while Dan Menk and Todd Stinehart battled behind him. Stinehart who had started ninth, got around both cars on lap 15 but Loverude was able to regain the lead and go on to win the race. Menk finished third. Another ninth place starter, Trevor Serbus, made his way to the front of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and led the last five laps, winning ahead of Hunter Hanson and Matt Johnson. All Star Shootout Modified champion William Gould

CALERA, Okla. (May 26, 2024) – After finishing runner-up in 2023, William Gould was determined to take his Kerry Friar Motorsports no. 60 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified to the All Star Shootout title this year. After winning his opening night heat at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, Gould drew the seventh place start in the “A”. However, things just didn’t go his way and he finished up 10th. Drake Findley sailed to a commanding win and set himself up to be Gould’s greatest challenge for the points championship. BONHAM, Texas (May 26, 2024) – Shelby Williams once again performed in championship style in this year’s IMCA All Star Shootout, successfully defending his 2023 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car title. Picking up his first win right out of the gate at Southern Oklahoma Speedway on opening night, Williams set the stage going into the rest of the tour with a lot of momentum behind him.
