Kriegel, Tuttle earn first wins at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (July 30, 2023) – A pair of drivers set out to “Do the Dew” during Mountain Dew Night Sunday at Benton County Speedway. By night’s end, Briar Kriegel and Nolan Tuttle celebrated their career first feature wins at The Bullring. Kriegel took top honors in the 15-lapper for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by Vermedahl Logistics. From a second row start, Kriegel quickly worked into contention and pulled ahead of front row starters Scott Siems and Michael Kimm. He then held off repeated challenges from hard-charging Matt Brown and Justin Wacha to earn the milestone win. Brown, Wacha and Cory Vanderwilt completed the top four. Tuttle ended the stranglehold Lukas Rick has had in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts presented by iHeart Radio. Off Road Speedway feature wins occur in a variety of ways

Each of those winners would have had a descriptive story to hash over in any sort of late night, after competition conversation in the pit area before loading up their cars for the journey home. Dylan Schmer, for example, probably felt like he won the IMCA Sunoco Late Models feature more than once after he had to overcome a number of challenges even after producing large leads on multiple occasions. Three cautions, the last two with under eight laps remaining, along with twice catching up to and having to contend with lapped traffic on both the high and low lines, kept challengers within reach. Scarborough sweeps Winchester

(July 29, 2023) – John Scarborough had a perfect night Saturday, winning his heat and taking the top spot of the feature at Winchester Speedway co-sanctioned by the Virginia Sprint Series and Laurel Highlands Sprint Series. Twenty-four IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars signed in on what turned out to be a breezy, nice evening. Scarborough and Ryan Lynn paced the feature to green with Scarborough staying low and leaving Lynn to deal with a charging Donnie Hendershot. The track was full of cars and traffic came in to play quickly, bunching up the frontrunners. Scarborough stayed low and worked his way through but not without Hendershot and Lynn staying right on him and sometimes next to him. Hendershot made a run for the lead after getting by Lynn but a yellow for a stalled car slowed the pace. Checkers for Ward at Boone’s Hunting with Heroes Salute to Veterans Night

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 29, 2023) – It was a night filled with patriotism and thanking our veterans at the Boone Speedway on Saturday when Boone held its annual Hunting with Heroes Salute to Veterans Night sponsored by EMW Trucking and Waltert Farms. A whopping 241 race cars came to try their hand at Iowa’s Action Track. Prior to the racing, Veterans enjoyed a free meal, drink, gifts, and free admission to the races. Specially wrapped Salute to Veterans race cars were on display behind the grandstand and a stirring pre-race ceremony was also held. NORWALK, Iowa (July 26, 2023) – Todd Shute came up big-time again, at another big-time IMCA event. Walrod Memorial checkers to Kinderknecht

STUART, Iowa (July 24, 2023) – Monday brought the Clint Walrod Memorial for suicide awareness to the Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. IMCA winners for the night were Jake Paysen, Nick Roberts, Skylar Pruitt, Taylor Kuehl, Todd Shute and Justin Kinderknecht. Jake Paysen and David Kimmel paced the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts for the first two laps when the red flag flew for third place running Owen Richards as he got upside down in turn one. Richards was ok but his night was over. Once the green came back out it was all Paysen to the checkers as he took the win. Kolby Sabin finished second with Stephen Stiteler third, Kimmel fourth and Curtis Masterson fifth. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars came out next with Nick Roberts taking command early on. Leibhart keeps fine tuning toward Sport Compact wins goal

IMPERIAL, Neb. – He’ll pack his bags and go to college to start his study of business this fall, but for Brock Leibhart the business at hand remains winning Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact features. Just like the movies, action at Arlington is fast and furious

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 22, 2023) – Action was fast, furious and competitive Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The IMCA Hobby Stock feature saw Scott Porter lead from the front row but a yellow came out for a spinning car which restarted the field nine laps in. With only four laps to go, Cory Probst once again pounced and got around both Taylor Manderfield and Porter to take the lead and win. Porter took second and Manderfield was third. Jason Bolte was the early leader starting up front in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature but the biggest battle was between Alan Lahr and Justin Dose for the positions directly behind him.
