HARLAN, Iowa (June 6, 2026) — Dylan Petersen’s transition from Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods to Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars paid off in a big way Saturday night as the Jacksonville driver captured his first career Stock Car feature victory at Shelby County Speedway.

Twenty-seven Stock Cars filled the pit area and put on a show worthy of the division’s reputation. Petersen entered the night with just two previous starts in the class but showed veteran poise throughout the 20-lap feature.

Starting second, Petersen quickly established himself among the frontrunners and never relinquished the lead despite constant pressure from behind. As the laps wound down, Miciah Hidlebaugh mounted a charge from his 16th starting position and closed the gap on the leader, but Petersen held his line and raced to the checkered flag.

The victory was Petersen’s first career Stock Car triumph and came in EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region competition.

Hidlebaugh’s impressive run netted a runner-up finish, while Mike Albertsen crossed the stripe third. Ryan Webb finished fourth and Dayton Ullrich rounded out the top five.

Madden Masters SportMod Main

The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods drew 30 entries, requiring four heat races and a B-Main to set the feature field.

When the dust settled, Avoca’s Corey Madden stood atop the leaderboard after a spirited battle in the 18-lap main event.

Madden started ninth and worked his way through the field before taking command and securing his second victory of the season. Both of his wins in 2026 have come at Shelby County Speedway.

Cody Olsen finished second after starting 10th, while Chase Monson crossed the line third. Tyler Remmereid produced one of the night’s best drives, charging from 18th to fourth, and Kevin Zeitner recovered from an early setback to complete the top five after starting 12th.

Christensen Charges to Hobby Stock Victory

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks once again produced exciting racing with 23 entries battling for the victory.

Colby Christensen started eighth and methodically worked his way to the front before taking control of the feature and driving to the win.

The Audubon driver earned his second B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season, with both triumphs coming at Shelby County Speedway.

Jeff Fink finished second while Zach Hemmingsen charged to third from the 10th starting spot. Jason Goans recorded one of his strongest runs of the season in fourth, and Kolby Sabin rounded out the top five. Briar Kriegel turned in a notable performance by advancing from 15th to sixth.

Zeitner Charges Through Field for Late Model Win

The Sunoco IMCA Late Models brought 22 cars to the speedway, and Omaha, Nebraska, driver Corey Zeitner put together a strong charge to victory.

Starting ninth, Zeitner steadily worked forward and eventually reached the front to score his second victory of the season and first at Shelby County Speedway in 2026.

Jon Plowman advanced from 11th to finish second, while Jordan Krug charged from 15th to third. Jack Hearty crossed the stripe fourth and defending track champion Zach Zeitner completed the top five.

Fiebelkorn Adds Another Sport Compact Win

Tyler Fiebelkorn continued his winning ways in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts.

The Stuart driver survived a late-race battle with Caine Mahlberg and held on for his sixth victory of the season. Half of those wins have come at Shelby County Speedway.

Mahlberg finished second, followed by Levi Volkert, Josh Deist, and Dalton Woodle.
