MOHAVE VALLEY, Ariz. (Feb. 14, 2026) — Kollin Hibdon etched his name deeper into Mohave Valley Raceway history, capturing the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature in the 6th Annual Bill and Shirley Meyer Showdown. The 25-lap, $1,500-to-win main event saw the 2025 Marshalltown Speedway track champion become the first repeat winner in event history while scoring his first DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the 2026 season. Originally from Pahrump, Nevada, and now calling Waterloo, Iowa home, Hibdon delivered a commanding performance from the outset.
Hibdon rocketed to the lead on the initial start and never relinquished command, even through a string of cautions that repeatedly reset the field. Austin Kuehl and Adam Hommerding battled for second through multiple restarts while Jake Pike — the 2019 DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region Rookie of the Year — joined the fray in the early going. Dalton Houghton, a two-time Mohave Valley track champion, entered the picture after the halfway mark, working the bottom to climb into second on lap 15. Kuehl and Houghton exchanged the runner-up position several times as Hibdon checked out in clean air.
Lapped traffic did little to slow the leader, but a late caution erased a half-lap advantage and set up a green-white-checkered finish. Hibdon remained flawless when it mattered most, executing a perfect restart to seal the victory. Houghton completed an impressive charge from 22nd to finish second, Kuehl nipped Ricky Childress Jr., in the Hommerding Racing no. 41L entry, at the line for third, and Hommerding rounded out the top five. The win also put Hibdon on the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational eligibility list at the 2026 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
Brigner Breaks Through in Stock Car Feature
Larry Brigner added another strong run to his early-season résumé by capturing the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature for his first EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region victory of 2026. The defending Arizona State champion from Apache Junction started fourth and powered to the front in the 20-lap contest.
Miranda Scott led the opening circuit before Brigner threatened low and completed the pass exiting turn four just before a caution on lap two. From there, Brigner controlled the pace, building separation on each restart while the battle for second intensified behind him. Trevor Hidalgo, in the Mike Shea-owned no. 7M, and reigning Central Arizona Raceway track champion traded the runner-up spot with George Fronsman Jr. through the middle stages.
A caution just before heavy lapped traffic reset the field late, but Brigner was untouchable on the restart, driving away in the closing laps to secure the win. Hidalgo finished second, Fronsman Jr. was third, Alan Grubel placed fourth, and Scott rounded out the top five. Keith Riley earned hard charger honors with a 19th-to-eighth advance.
Morris Masters SportMod Main Event
Miles Morris put on a clinic in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature, racing from eighth to victory for his first win of the season. The two-time Cocopah Speedway champion from Yuma showcased patience and precision in the 20-lap affair.
Jerry Buesig grabbed the early lead before Joel Dean surged around the top to take command on lap two. Braxton James settled into second and tried to track down Dean until Morris entered the picture, methodically working the bottom groove. Morris slipped into second on lap six, then took the lead the following circuit at the stripe. Multiple cautions bunched the field, including a fierce father-son battle on restarts as Hudson Morris challenged for the top spot.
Each time, the elder Morris proved stronger on the low line, eventually pulling away to dominate the closing laps. Fourteen-year-old Braxton James finished second, 2024 Tonopah Speedway champion Jake Snowden charged from 11th to third, Kegan Head was fourth, and Brandon Bartolotti completed the top five.
The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV affiliate Dirt Race Central. Catch every lap again with the IMCA TV Replay Subscription, available for just $24.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
