EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 23, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature capped the night with one of the most dramatic runs of the season. Cameron Thompson led early before cautions reshuffled the field. Bob Zoubek and Hunter Weber each worked into contention, while Shawn Harker steadily picked his way forward.

In the closing laps, contact and spins between Thompson and Zoubek opened the door for Harker, who powered to his fifth straight win at Eagle Raceway. The victory secured him both the track championship and the combined Eagle–Beatrice points bonus. John Saathoff finished second and Chad Andersen third. Harker’s win was his sixth Jet Racing Central Region triumph of the year, all at Eagle.

Vanover Returns to Victory Lane in Stock Cars; Andersen Claims Title

The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature delivered a wild story with championship implications. Jeremy Down led early while Kyle Vanover charged through the pack. A string of cautions kept the field tight, and points contenders Mason Richards and Chad Andersen both saw their title bids end with mechanical trouble.

Vanover powered past Down just after halfway and never looked back, winning by a straightaway. Down held on for second while Matt Boucher rounded out the podium. The win was Vanover’s 12th of the year in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and fifth at Eagle in 2025. Andersen claimed the championship on the strength of more victories despite tying Richards in points.

Wayman Flashes to SportMod Victory

The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature saw Austin Schmelzle pace the early laps, but it didn’t take long for track champion Cole Wayman — who had already secured the season title — to rocket from 12th to the lead by lap three.

Wayman collected his fifth win of the season, all at Eagle Raceway, with Drake Bohlmeyer second and Matt Andrews third. Adam Vrbka capped a strong drive from the rear to finish fourth.

Gullion Surges Late for Sprint Car Win; Pike Clinches Title

In the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint feature, Gunnar Pike led early with Adam Gullion, Gaige Weldon, and Cameron Thompson in pursuit. Heavy lapped traffic shuffled the order as Weldon briefly took command before Gullion surged low to grab the lead.

A late caution set up a sprint to the finish, but Gullion proved strongest, winning by nearly two seconds. Weldon finished second and Pike third. It was Gullion’s second Eagle win of 2025, both coming at the high banks; Pike was crowned the 2025 track champion.

Pella Breaks Through in Hobby Stocks; Richards Secures Championship

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock main event was slowed by several cautions as the field fought for position. Neil Pella took control after a mid-race restart and held off Trenton Dowty in the final laps.

Pella’s win made him just the fourth driver to claim a Hobby Stock feature at Eagle this season. Dowty finished second while Dan Markham rounded out the podium.

The triumph was Pella’s first win of the 2025 campaign in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, while Dillon Richards had already clinched the track championship in previous weeks.

The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV affiliate Advantage Racing TV. Catch every lap again with the IMCA TV Replay Subscription, available for just $24.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, now streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
