HAYS, Kan. (Mar. 28, 2025) — The 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature marked the headlining event of the opening night of the 13th Annual Sunflower Classic at RPM Speedway. Dakota Sproul and Cole Czarneski led the field to green, with Sproul jumping out to an early lead and never looking back. Not even lapped traffic slowed the locked-in racer, who claimed his first victory of the season in the Jet Racing Central Region in dominant fashion.

Cole Czarneski finished second, followed by Tanner Black in third, Clay Sellard in fourth, and Brett Berry in fifth.

Pfeifer Holds Off Wisconsin Star in Stock Car Battle!

Austin Carter and Tyler Tipton started on the front row of the 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, but it didn’t take long for Kyle Pfeifer and double duty runner Czarneski to charge to the front. The duo battled closely and cleanly for much of the event.

In the end, Pfeifer came out on top, earning his first win of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Czarneski was a close second, with Burkhart third, Johnny Yutterman fourth, and Tipton rounding out the Top 5.

Spanjer Best in Sport Mods

Front row starters Noah Speicher and Brandon Spanjer set the tone early in the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main. The pair battled throughout, with Spanjer ultimately outdueling the field in the closing laps to take the win.

Connor Barnes finished second, Arie Schouten was third, Carson Lang fourth, and Trevin Frye fifth.

Olmstead Survives Hobby Mayhem

Brayden Hurley and Konner Mikesell led the field to green in the 20-lap Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock main, with Hurley showing early speed. A caution-filled affair was shortened due to time constraints.

A late-race restart turned chaotic when Morgan Olmstead made heavy contact with Hurley, sending him into the wall. Zach Olmstead capitalized, sneaking by to take the lead. Officials called the race after nine laps, awarding Olmstead his first win of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.

Dylan Bell finished second, followed by Dillon Thompson, Tristan Grape, and Chad Wulf.

Martinez Capitalizes on Late Restart to Score Compact Victory

Jake Schwien quickly moved to the front at the start of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact main event and led several laps. However, Flohrs suffered a steering rack failure, triggering a late restart. That opened the door for Martinez, who seized the opportunity and drove to victory — gaining nine positions along the way.

Kyle Mortensen finished second, Schwien held on for third, Conner Schwien was fourth, and Zack McLaughlin took fifth.
