Cedar County Raceway Set To Host “Fall Bash” October 1-4

TIPTON, Iowa (Sept. 29, 2025) — The highly anticipated “Fall Bash” racing spectacular is set to take place this week on the ¼-mile dirt track located on the Cedar County Fairgrounds in Tipton. The annual event, promoted by Darkside Promotions’ Tim Current and Ryan Duhme, has grown into one of Eastern Iowa’s premier racing events.

Wednesday, Oct. 1, will serve as kickoff night with an open practice beginning at 6:30 p.m. Camping setup will be allowed throughout the day and a post-practice party will follow the on-track activity.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, racing will get underway at 6:30 p.m. with a full program featuring Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Friday, Oct. 3, brings the Benny Jamison Memorial for the Modifieds, with Stock Cars, SportMods, and Hobby Stocks also in action. Racing begins at 6:30 p.m.

The grand finale will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, with the Modifieds taking center stage in a main event paying $3,000 to win. Also competing will be the Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, and SportMods. Saturday night’s race program will get underway at 5:30 p.m.

Post-race entertainment will take place each night in the Matthews Building, and approximately 30 minutes after the final checkered flag on Saturday, the “Fall Bash” awards ceremony will be held.

Modifieds will be racing for a possible $6,500 to win, and drivers will also be competing for points all three nights with the 2025 Paula Meyer Point Fund awarding $7,000 to the top point earners.

For those unable to attend in person, every lap of the Fall Bash can be seen live on IMCA TV affiliate Done Right TV.

IMCA Modifieds, STARS Mod Lites have Cedar County Fair date

TIPTON, Iowa – The IMCA Modified winner at the July 14 Cedar County Fair special goes home with a prize that’s better than a blue ribbon. The Wednesday night main event at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier, paying $2,000 to win, a minimum of $130 to start and $60 tow. IMCA STARS Mod Lite are also on the card, racing for $250 to win. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance Iowa State points will be awarded. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $30. Pit gates open at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. Admission to the fairgrounds is $10 for adults and $5 for kids; grandstand admission is free.

Cedar County canceled this weekend

TIPTON, Iowa (April 4, 2024) – Point the finger at wet weather and resulting wet grounds, following cancellation of the scheduled April 5 and 6 Spring Fling at Cedar County Raceway. Instead, three IMCA divisions visit Tipton for the first time this season on Thursday, April 18, running with the MLRA at the Darkside Promotions’ Hawkeye Land 40. Diercks and Dierks Win on Separate Nights in Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds

By Jerry Mackey TIPTON, Iowa (July 26, 2025) — Friday night’s Gary Reinhart Memorial feature at Cedar County Raceway for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds drew 27 entries for the $2,000-to-win main event. Spencer Diercks of Davenport charged through the field from his 10th starting position and took the lead on lap 16. Diercks hit his marks lap after lap to outdistance a stellar field and secure his ninth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season. Izac Mallicoat crossed the stripe in second while Joel Rust completed the podium. Saturday’s Modified main belonged to Brad Dierks, who started up front and led the entire distance of the 20-car feature. The win marked Dierks’ second of the year in the North Central Region. Shute Charges From Deep to Modified Victory at the Downs

By Christine Rublack CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Sept. 27, 2025) — Todd Shute was a man on a mission after starting deep in the field to capture the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win at Hawkeye Downs Speedway. The victory came during the facility’s 100th anniversary season and marked the first dirt race at the historic venue since the mid-1980s. Troy Cordes took command early while Jerry Dedrick and Trent Wyssbrod battled for second. Shute climbed into fourth behind Ethan Krall and soon began working the top line as lapped traffic slowed Cordes. Cordes and Shute traded the lead in a spirited duel before Jed Freiburger moved into third. One final caution bunched the field, but Shute powered ahead on the restart to take the checkers. Lamphere Masters Lapped Traffic to Claim Woodhull NY-Penn Checkers

(Sept. 27, 2025) — The Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Insinger Performance Racing Fuels made its final stop of the season at Woodhull Raceway on Saturday night. Jeff Reay, the current Friesen Performance IMCA Modified National points leader, made the eight-hour haul from Michigan in search of much-needed points. At the drop of the green, he wasted no time jumping to the front. Early on, the race was slowed by multiple yellow flags as the field struggled to find rhythm. Once it did, fans were treated to a classic Woodhull battle. Randall Paxton tucked in behind Reay, following his tire tracks for several laps while multi-time 2025 Woodhull winner Keith Lamphere closed in.
