$3,000-to-Win Greg Durbin Memorial Highlights Season Finale Weekend at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2022) – A $1,000 to win feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds is on the card this Friday night, at Davenport Speedway’s Ron Weedon Memorial.  The Modified portion of the Aug. 12 program is draw/redraw and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility is at stake as well. IMCA Sunoco Late Models and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods are also on the program. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.  Pit passes are $35 for adults, $20 for kids ages 3-12 and free for two and under. DAVENPORT, Iowa (Sept. 28, 2024) – He’s been wrenching a lot more than he’s been racing again this season but Jeremiah Hurst still knows how to find the fastest way around the oval. The Dubuque star led all 30 laps of the Dirt Stars main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models Saturday night at Davenport Speedway, earning $3,000 for his first sanctioned win since 2019, the season after he reigned as national champion in the class. “My brother Ian started racing four years ago and I’ve been helping him,” explained Hurst, who ran a Modified in the Clash on the Coast and had just a handful of starts before running fifth in the  Friday show at Davenport. “The car was very, very good and I knew if I could get to the lead and get into lapped traffic, I’d be all right.” Hurst took the initial green from inside row two and was quickly in front, staying on the inside line, catching up with the back of the pack by lap 18 and working through traffic. VINTON, Iowa – Extra money is on the line for the potential winner of the main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models this Friday at Davenport. The next installment of the $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus will be paid to the August 13 Late Model winner at Davenport Speedway.  Sunoco bonuses will be presented at IMCA Late Model sanctioned tracks in 2021. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the racing season. Winners so far this year have been Matt Ryan at 300 Raceway in Farley, followed by Sean Johnson at Independence Motor Speedway, Andy Eckrich at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Ron Klein at Dubuque Speedway, Kyle Prauner at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus, Chase Osborne at Boone County Raceway in Albion, Brock Carlson at Off Road Speedway in Norfolk, and most recently to Dave Eckrich last Friday night at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson.  IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track.
