ANTIOCH, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2025) — Jason Ryan Jr. of Oakley won the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event in dramatic fashion Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. It was Ryan’s fourth win of the season, with half of those victories coming at Antioch, and he gained this one with the late-race misfortune of Kenny Shrader of Pacheco.

Shrader, the point leader going into the night, suffered front-end damage while lapping a slower car with two laps remaining. Though he limped home to ninth, that finish was still enough to secure him the track championship.

The championship night format put Shrader and Ryan on the front row, and Shrader bolted into the immediate lead ahead of Ryan and Trevor Clymens. Shrader steadily pulled away from the pack while Ryan and Clymens battled for second. By halfway, Shrader was slicing through slower traffic with precision, but on lap 17, contact with a lapped car left his machine crippled. Ryan pounced low in turn four on lap 18 to take over the top spot.

While Shrader rolled to the infield, Ryan fought to hold off Clymens through heavy traffic. Clymens made one bold move in turn four on the final lap, but Ryan shut the door and claimed the victory. Clymens was second and Fred Ryland finished third.

Foulger Clinches Seventh Modified Crown with Antioch Victory

Troy Foulger of Oakley won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event, his fifth win of the season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region and second at Antioch. The triumph also secured Foulger an unprecedented seventh IMCA Modified track championship.

Starting from the pole in the championship night format, Foulger jumped out front immediately with Andrew Pearce and Nevada’s Katelynn Robertson in pursuit. Tyler Browne slipped into third on lap three. Foulger pulled away until a lap-eight caution for Gary Hetrick’s spin. On the restart, Foulger led Pearce and Jonathan Hagio.

Pearce spun on lap 13, moving Hagio to second and Browne to third. Robertson charged past Browne for third on lap 15, only for Browne to retake the spot on lap 17. When Hagio’s motor expired for a lap-18 yellow, Foulger again pulled away on the restart. Robertson grabbed second from Browne with a strong move in turn two, but there was no catching Foulger, who won ahead of Robertson and Browne.

Foulger Doubles Up, Ryland Clinches Stock Car Championship

Foulger returned to the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car division later in the program and dominated the 20-lap feature for his third EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region victory of the season, all three coming at Antioch. Foulger had also earned seventh-place honors at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, just a week earlier. Brentwood’s Fred Ryland secured the division championship with his second-place run.

The Stock Car feature had a rough start with a backstretch crash before a lap was completed. Once underway, Foulger led from the green, with multiple cautions keeping the field tight. State champion Austin Van Hoff of Chowchilla held second while Atwater’s Justin Villanueva ran third early. On lap 10, Ryland took over third and soon pressured Van Hoff after another restart.

Following a lap-13 yellow, Ryland worked the inside groove and by lap 19 passed Van Hoff for second. Out front, however, Foulger had built a straightaway lead and cruised to the checkers. Ryland finished second, with Van Hoff in third.
