EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 16, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature turned into the night’s wildest thriller at Eagle Raceway. Mike Lineberry jumped out early, but Trevor Baker worked steadily through the pack and used a restart to muscle his way to the lead. Chad Andersen came charging from mid-pack to give chase while Lineberry held his ground in third, creating a tight battle inside the top three.

Baker appeared unstoppable once he gained the top spot, but the checkered flag was only the beginning of his drama. Just after crossing the finish line, his engine detonated in a burst of flames. Baker safely climbed out as fire crews swarmed the car, and the crowd roared at both the victory and the spectacle.

The win marked Baker’s first in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region this season. Andersen’s runner-up effort vaulted him into the points lead, while Lineberry’s consistency kept him on the podium.

Wayman Secures SportMod Crown

The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods saw plenty of shakeups before Cole Wayman grabbed the spotlight. Early leader Dan Latture and Amber Cook had the front row locked down before Noah Williams and Wayman surged forward after a restart. The Choose Cone added more drama to the mix, and Wayman used the outside line to slingshot into contention.

Wayman grabbed the lead on a restart and never looked back, driving with confidence and control through the final laps. Williams settled for second while Gary Saathoff held strong in third. The victory was Wayman’s fourth of the year, all at Eagle, and it came with the bonus of clinching the 2025 SportMod track championship one week early.

Harker Makes It Four Straight in Modifieds

In the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Clint Homan set the pace from the green flag while Adam Wasserman and Shawn Harker stalked him closely. Homan worked the bottom groove while Harker searched the high side, building momentum with each passing lap.

That patience paid off as Harker swept to the lead with ten laps to go, using the cushion to perfection. Homan refused to fade but couldn’t quite mount a counterattack, taking second with Wasserman claiming third. For Harker, the win was his fifth of the 2025 campaign in the Jet Racing Central Region — all of them coming at Eagle — and his fourth straight at the track to build a commanding points lead.

Drueke Flies to Sprint Car Victory

The RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature opened with Trevor Serbus leading, but it didn’t take long for Adam Gullion and Tyler Drueke to make their presence felt. The race stayed fast and clean through the opening laps before Drueke began slicing through the leaders, showing speed on both the cushion and the low line.

Once Drueke got to the front, he pulled away and never looked back. Gullion finished second, while Troy Sanford worked his way into third ahead of Serbus in fourth. The triumph was Drueke’s fifth win of the season — all of them at Eagle — continuing his mastery of the track heading into the RaceSaver IMCA Nationals.

Richards Racks Up Another Hobby Stock Win

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks saw Neil Pella jump to the early lead, with Dan Markham and Coedy Muth giving chase. But once again, it was only a matter of time before Dillon Richards appeared in the picture. Richards steadily advanced through the field before taking command with nine laps remaining.

From there, Richards drove away to another convincing victory, his 12th of the season at Eagle and 44th overall in 2025. Pella held on for second while Markham crossed in third. All but eight of Richards’ wins this year have come in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, where he remains locked in a fierce battle for the national title.
