KENNEDALE, Texas (Aug. 13, 2025) — The IMCA Southern SportMod Super Nationals return to Kennedale Speedway Park on September 4–6, now with Summit Racing Equipment on board as title sponsor for both the Super Nationals and the All-Star special in a newly signed three-year deal. The Southern SportMod-exclusive event, in its fourth year at KSP, has become a premier destination for top-tier talent in the division from across the region.
The road to the Super Nationals began with the Prelude presented by Mike Frieri last Saturday August 9, which paid $2,000 to win. By finishing on top of the podium in that event, Casey Brunson locked himself into Saturday’s big dance. The Prelude also served as a qualifying opportunity for the All-Star portion of Super Nationals week.
Drivers who either competed in the Prelude or have won a 2025 IMCA-sanctioned Southern SportMod feature are eligible for the All-Star qualifying heats on Thursday, September 4. The top 20 finishers will advance to the $1,000 to win, $100 to start All-Star Feature, which runs Friday, September 5 after the completion of the Super Nationals double heats. Three drivers also earned provisional starting spots in the All-Star main event through All-Star Shootout Tour victories earlier this year — Josh Landers, Jerrett Bransom (twice), and Tyler Russell.
The $5,000 to win, $500 to start Summit Racing Equipment IMCA Southern SportMod Super Nationals — takes center stage on Saturday, September 6. With an overall purse of $30,000, last-chance qualifiers and B-mains will complete the starting grid. A fan vote and an auction spot will determine two provisional starters for Saturday’s feature. Only pre-registered drivers are eligible for the fan vote, and both provisionals will receive $500 starting money.
Past champions include Ray Allen Kulhanek (2024), Dean Abbey (2023), and Marcus Mikulencak (2022).
Early registration opened on August 9 at the Prelude for $90, while late registration begins August 24 at $140. Open practice will run from 6–8 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, with racing starting at 8:05 p.m.
