Olson Makes It Three Straight with Stock Car Win at Vinton

VINTON, Iowa (Jun. 8, 2025) — Tony Olson took home his third straight Sunoco IMCA Stock Car victory. Olson, who had won the previous two weeks, took the top position early in the race with John Oliver Jr. and Dakoda Sellers in pursuit. The top two began to pull away from the field. Brett Vanous had his eyes set on Sellers as the laps began to wind down. Olson took the checkers first, with Vanous and Oliver following.

The Cedar Rapids veteran now has seven wins this season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, with his current streak extending to three straight.

Fitz Doubles Up in Modifieds at Benton County

Back-to-back in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Trevor Fitz once again found victory lane. Owen Barnhill took control of the race early with Chris Snyder in tow. Fitz had moved into third with Ben Chapman Jr. in fourth. Using the high line, Fitz worked his way into the top spot just a few laps later. Barnhill now had Snyder and Chapman on his bumper. Fitz crossed the line first, followed by Chapman, Barnhill, and Snyder.

Fitz, originally from Camarillo, California and now living in Marshalltown, picked up his second Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the season—both coming at Benton County.

Kyle Olson Scores First SportMod Win of 2025

Kyle Olson held off Will Wolf to take the victory in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods. Brandon Tharp and Wolf battled for the top position as Olson moved into third early in the event. Just a lap later, Olson had company with Tony Olson and Payce Herrera all challenging for position. Wolf eventually took the lead, with Kyle Olson quickly closing in. As the laps wound down, it was Kyle Olson who emerged victorious, with Wolf and Tharp rounding out the top three.

The Cedar Rapids driver celebrated his first win of the 2025 season with the strong finish at Vinton.

Fisher Stays Hot with Vinton Hobby Stock Win

Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock driver Joren Fisher made his way to victory lane once again. Michael Kimm held the early lead as Brandon Beyer and Dalton Weepie battled for second. Fisher began working the high line and moved into second before the halfway point. Kimm continued on the top groove as Fisher reeled him in. Fisher grabbed the lead as Leah Wroten closed in on the front two. A green-white-checkered finish bunched the field late, but Fisher held off Wroten and Kimm to seal the win.

The Garrison, Iowa native notched his third victory of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region—his second of the weekend following a Saturday night win at Independence and his first of 2025 at Benton County.

Rundle Charges to First Sport Compact Win of the Season

Robert Rundle took home the hardware in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Justin Tharp paced the early laps as Ryan Cheney and Rundle battled for second. Cristian Grady worked the high groove into second while Rundle took control at the front. Jake Anderson climbed to third as the laps wound down. At the checkers, it was Rundle scoring the win, followed by Grady and Anderson.

The Center Point driver tallied his first win of the 2025 season with the strong run at Vinton.
