REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (May 11, 2025) — Dalton Magers fended off a fierce late-race challenge from multi-time state champion Brandon Beckendorf to capture the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified season opener at Redwood Speedway. The Redwood Falls racer, a three-time reigning Murray County Speedway track champion, held his line and kept Beckendorf at bay over the final circuits to secure his first win of 2025 in the Razor Chassis North Central Region.

Beckendorf, a five-time Minnesota State and four-time Redwood track champion, settled for second after pressuring Magers for the top spot with three laps to go. Defending track champion Dan Menk completed the podium in third.

Speckman Shines in Stock Car Showdown

Matt Speckman used the high side to his advantage in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, driving around Ken Tietz on lap three to take the lead. Speckman, the 2019 Redwood Speedway champion, pulled away from the field and dominated the remainder of the 15-lap contest to earn his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of 2025.

Tietz, a three-time reigning Redwood Speedway champion and the 2012 Minnesota State titlist, got sideways coming to the white flag, allowing Curt Lund to slip past for second. Lund, a veteran of multiple divisions with five Modified and three Sprint Car track titles, secured the runner-up finish, while David Moriarty completed the top three.

Larson Doubles Up With SportMod Score

Eric Larson continued his winning ways in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, scoring his second feature win of the weekend after claiming victory at Arlington the previous night. The defending Minnesota State champion jumped to the early lead and survived multiple restarts to claim the 15-lap feature by a comfortable margin.

Madison Lake’s Larson kept his cool under pressure and remained perfect on each restart, cruising to the checkers ahead of Broddy Enter and Cole Hesse, who swapped second place several times before Enter ultimately claimed the runner-up spot.

Probst Powers to Hobby Stock Win

Brewster’s Cory Probst held off a determined Blake Luinenburg to notch his fourth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of 2025 in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks. Probst, the two-time defending National and three-time track champion, set the pace early and looked to be uncatchable until Luinenburg reeled him in by lap eight.

Luinenburg, the reigning Murray County and Worthington Speedway champion, was poised to challenge for the lead but slipped over the cushion and into the wall with five laps remaining, giving Probst enough breathing room to claim the victory. Luinenburg recovered to finish second, while Roger Krebs took third.
