LUXEMBURG, Wis. (May 9, 2025) — Tony Wedelstadt withstood a last-lap charge from former track champion Jason Czarapata to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the season at Luxy Raceway. The Combined Locks racer launched to the lead at the drop of the green flag and built a sizable advantage as Czarapata settled into second. While Wedelstadt looked dominant up top, Czarapata began reeling him in during the closing laps, setting up a thrilling finish.
Czarapata, the 2014 Luxy Raceway and 2012 Wisconsin State champion, made a bold move on the final circuit, but Wedelstadt held his ground, narrowly edging out the veteran racer at the line. Josh Long, the 2019 Wisconsin State titleholder, completed the podium after a consistent run in third.
Wedelstadt’s victory in the Razor Chassis North Central Region marked his first of the 2025 season.
LaCrosse Cashes In with First Stock Car Win of 2025
Double duty pilot, Benji LaCrosse led from start to finish to capture his first Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature win of the year at Luxy Raceway. The 2006 Modified National champion and 2005 Super Nationals winner maintained control up top, fending off Larry Karcz Jr. throughout the race.
A late caution with three laps to go set up a three-car battle for second, but LaCrosse nailed the restart to pull away. Karcz, the 2011 Stock Car National champ, secured second, while Cole Czarneski slipped by Eric Mahlik to steal third at the line.

Vlies Powers to SportMod Victory at Luxy
Coy Vlies showcased his high-side hustle in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event, charging from third to first to claim his second win of 2025. The 18-year-old Casco driver worked the cushion to pass Robert Wittkopf for the lead near the midway point and held on for the victory.
Wittkopf, who led the early laps after getting by Craig Dorner, kept the pressure on Vlies in the closing circuits but couldn’t regain the top spot. Dorner finished a solid third after battling with 2023 track champ Vlies early in the race.
