AVOCA, Iowa (March 15, 2022) – Nick Foster didn’t just learn his first child would be a boy during a Saturday afternoon gender reveal.
The Avoca, Iowa, driver found out his IMCA Northern SportMod would be blue, too
Foster and girlfriend Whitney Anderson are expecting in early July. Whitney knew in February that the baby would be a boy and contacted Justin Webb and Clint Winey at Blue Space Creative in Denison about a blue wrap
Keith Knop kept the car at his shop in Shelby, then delivered it to the Avoca Countryview Golf Course for the March 12 unveiling.
“I would have put all my life’s savings down it was a girl. Never in my mind did I envision a boy,” said Foster, who’d been positive he’d be racing a pink car on Saturday nights at Shelby County Speedway this season. “I was so surprised. My mind was blown. Everything went perfect.”
One hundred or so family members and friends attended the March 12 reveal. While his first and middle names have yet to be decided, Baby Boy Foster is guaranteed to inherit good racing genes: His grandfather is IMCA Sunoco Stock car driver Jeff Anderson while uncle Shannon Anderson set the bar equally high for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock drivers.
“And my dad Tracy is making big plans, too,” said Foster, who ran go-karts with his father in his younger days. “My birthday was the 11th, Whitney’s was the 12th and the reveal was on the 12th, so it was a busy weekend.”
