ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (July 29) – After having to miss several spring races due to changing jobs, Chris Ware came back strong and led start to finish in winning the second Virginia Sprint Series Fast Friday event of the year at Dixieland Speedway.

Bill Rice and Ware paced the IMCA EMI RaceSaver Sprint Car field to green with Ware going to the top and getting out first.

Ware was on rails as Rice tried lap after lap to find an opening. Troy Severin got to third at halfway and joined the party.

Ware wasn’t making any mistakes and Severin was all over Rice in the race for second as the white flag waved. Ware got a few car lengths out and Severin went low on Rice for the charge to the flag with Ware taking the win and Severin prevailing by a foot at the line for second.

Feature results – 1. Chris Ware; 2. Troy Severin; 3. Bill Rice; 4. Jerald Harris; 5. J.D. Coats; 6. Brian Lawson; 7. Glenn Worrell; 8. Mike Leraas; 9. Charlie Ware; 10. Anthony Linkenhoker; 11. Daren Bolac; 12. Kevin Fletcher.
