Hagen Holds Off Wolla for Emotional Modified Victory in Williston Opener

By Ben Deatherage WILLISTON, N.D. (May 9, 2025) — Travis Hagen capped off a milestone week with a dominant performance in the 25-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Williston Basin Speedway. A week after he and his wife Makenzie welcomed a baby girl, the eight-time Williston track champion drove to his third win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Chris Tuchscherer made an early charge, getting around Dalton Flory for second on lap six before the caution waved on lap 10. Hagen nailed the restart, but 2017 National champion Jason Wolla began his march to the front, battling past Tuchscherer to take over second. A final caution with seven laps to go set the stage for a showdown, but Hagen remained calm and composed, pulling away on the restart to secure the victory. For Hagen, the win was a welcome high note in a week of personal celebration. Wolla kept the pressure on but had to settle for second, while Tuchscherer rounded out the podium. Egbert Fends Off Late Challenges to Capture $3,015 Baby Blue Harcrow Memorial at HOT

By Ben Deatherage ELM MOTT, Texas (May 9, 2025) — P.J. Egbert’s first Baby Blue Harcrow Memorial win at Heart O’ Texas Speedway didn’t come easy, but the 2008 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified National champion rose to the occasion in the $3,015-to-win 30-lap Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature. Matt Guillaume, a three-time EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region titleholder, dominated the early laps after starting from the pole, while Egbert moved into second on lap 7 after slipping past reigning track champion Paul White. Guillaume built a comfortable lead but hit traffic shortly after, giving Egbert a chance to close in. A series of mid-race cautions bunched the field, and on lap 20, Egbert muscled past Guillaume to lead on the backstretch. Reigning Baby Blue winner Cody Smith surged into second, with two-time defending Baby Blue winner Jeffrey Abbey rocketing to third after Guillaume drifted high. Abbey, the 2016 Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMod National champion, moved into the runner-up spot and stalked Egbert over the final five laps but couldn’t mount a successful challenge. Hogge Stays Hot with Ocean Modified Win

By Gary Thomas WATSONVILLE, Calfi. (May 9, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event at Ocean Speedway saw Jonathan Hagio set the pace early on, until Jim Pettit II drove by after a restart. Bobby Hogge, in the Paul Gugliemoni provided no. 2 entry, then climbed into second and began to hound the rear of the leader. On lap 9 the duo was racing nose to tail, which then saw Pettit get turned to bring out a caution. Hogge, from Salinas, led the remaining distance to grab the win ahead of Robert Marsh and Cody Burke. Hogge’s third win of the season came at his third different track in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. A healthy field of Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods competed on Friday night with 19 total entries signing in. D.J. Keldsen led the opening circuit in the feature, before Trevor Clymens went by the take the point on lap 2. The SportMods put on an entertaining main event once again at Ocean, with cars running high and low. Right around [Read More]
