BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 1) – Changes in the race night format during the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s are few and far between.
Super Nationals runs from Sept. 1-6 at Boone Speedway. Subject to car counts at the 32nd annual event, the number of heat races, “B” features and qualifying features are the same this year as in 2013 for the Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks.
Car count numbers will determine the number of Northern SportMod “B” features. The number of entries also have more effect on the format for the Monday, Sept. 1 Deery Brothers Summer Series for Late Models and Tuesday, Sept. 2 Sport Compact programs.
“The rumors circulating about wholesale changes to the Super Nationals qualifying format are completely false,” IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root said. “Considering all the logistics and sheer size of Super Nationals, there is no room for us to be inefficient or waste time.”
“We will continue with a format that makes the most sense for the racers competing and the fans attending,” he continued. “All divisions will have the opportunity to be on the race track multiple times each day.”
Drivers’ meetings will be held at 1 p.m. each day during Super Nationals and the race program will begin at 2 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 1:
The complete Late Model program will be held following the Deery Series procedures and format.
Late Models are the only division that will line up double file for the initial start in their Super Nationals main event; all other divisions will line up three wide for their respective Super Nationals main event.
Hobby Stocks: Heats and two qualifying features with the top eight in each qualifier advancing to the inside and middle row of Saturday’s main event. B features will be run for points.
Northern SportMods: Winners of heats and B feature transfers will advance to the qualifying feature; the top eight in that race make up the inside row on Saturday. C features will be run for points.
Tuesday, Sept. 2:
The complete Sport Compact program will be held.
Hobby Stocks: Heats and one qualifying feature, with the top eight advancing to the outside row of Saturday’s main event. B features will be run for points. Race of Champions qualifying
Northern SportMods: Heat race transfers will advance to one of two qualifying features. The top eight finishers in each of those features make up the middle and outside rows on Saturday. B features will be run for points only. Race of Champions qualifying.
Wednesday, Sept. 3:
The top 24 drivers in points not qualified advance to last-chance features for Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods. The top six finishers advance to the back two rows of those respective main events on Saturday.
Stock Cars: Heat transfers advance to one of two qualifying features. The top four from each of those races make up the inside row for Saturday’s main event. B features will be run for points only.
Modifieds: Heat transfers advance to one of two qualifying features. The top four from each of those races make up the inside row for Saturday’s main event. B features will be run for points only.
Thursday, Sept. 4:
Stock Cars: Format is the same as Wednesday, with the top four from each of the two qualifying features advancing to the middle row of Saturday’s main event and B features for points only. Race of Champions qualifying.
Modifieds: Format is the same as Wednesday, with the top four from each of the two qualifying advancing to the middle row of Saturday’s main event and B features for points only. Race of Champions qualifying.
Friday, Sept. 5:
Stock Cars: Format is the same as Wednesday and Thursday, with the top four from each of the two qualifying features advancing to the outside row of Saturday’s main event and B features for points only
Modifieds: Format is the same as Wednesday and Thursday, with the top four from each of the two qualifying advancing to the outside row of Saturday’s main event and B features for points only. Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.
Saturday, Sept. 6:
Stock Cars: The top 24 drivers in points not qualified advance to a last-chance feature. The top six finishers advance to the back two rows of the main event.
Modifieds: The top three finishers in each of 15 last-chance heats advance to one of three last-chance features. The top three in each of those races advance to the inside, middle and outside rows of the main event.
