North Central Speedway opener drawing entries from across Upper Midwest

BRAINERD, Minn. – Five IMCA divisions will go three, four and five-wide when they open the season this Saturday, May 9 at North Central Speedway. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are on the card on the fast 1/3-mile dirt oval at Brainerd. Promoter Holly Orpen has already fielded a barrage of phone calls from drivers in all of those divisions. “We have been getting a lot of calls from all over, North Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota of course. Northstar IMCA Mod Tour set for Aug. 10-12

PRINCETON, Minn. – IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths each night of the Aug. 10-12 Northstar IMCA Mod Tour. Both the Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods are at Princeton Speedway on Friday, Aug. 10 and at North Central Speedway in Brainerd on Saturday, Aug. 11. On Saturday, Aug. 12, Modifieds are at Sheyenne Speedway in Lisbon, N.D. while the Northern SportMods are at Buffalo River Race Park in Glyndon. Modified features pay a minimum of $100 to start. Top prize for the Northern SportMods each night is $600 with $70 paid to start. Point funds are in place for both divisions with $1,000 going to the top drivers in the standings. IMCA Announces 2025 Stock Car Body Rule Amendment Effective Immediately

VINTON, Iowa (June 13, 2025) — The International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) has announced an immediate amendment to the 2025 Stock Car body rules regarding the use of the MD3 Camaro Stock Car body kit. The original rule stated:“IMCA approved MD3 Stock Car kit (part no. 33131-10200-X) is allowed. This Camaro kit must remain as produced, complete and unaltered. The kit components may not be used with any other body style.” Effective today, the following exceptions have been approved and added to the 2025 rulebook: These updates are effective immediately at all IMCA-sanctioned events nationwide. “This amendment gives our racers utilizing the Camaro body style more flexibility without compromising the integrity or identity,” said IMCA President, Brett Root. All competitors and teams are encouraged to review this update and ensure compliance at upcoming events. Skylar Pruitt: From the Horn of Africa to Victory Lane at Stuart

Born and raised in Stuart, Pruitt now races Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks at Stuart International Speedway — the same track his family has been tied to since the late 1970s. But the road that brought him back to the driver’s seat wasn’t a straight one.
