Kaytee DeVries: Hitting the Century Mark in Sport Compacts

By Ben Deatherage SPENCER, Iowa (Jun. 26, 2025) — On a warm Friday night, June 20, in Slayton, Minnesota, Kaytee DeVries did something only three other IMCA Mach-1 Sport Compact drivers had done before her. At Murray County Speedway, she passed under the checkers for her 100th career sanctioned win, finally reaching a milestone that had narrowly eluded her for nearly a year. “I had win number 99 last August at Slayton,” she said. “So to finally get 100 — and to do it at the same track — it was kind of poetic.” Now in her 15th season, DeVries becomes just the fourth driver in IMCA Sport Compact history to reach the century mark, joining Nate Coopman (297), Ramsey Meyer (230), and Caine Mahlberg (111). IMCA Modifieds chasing $1,500 check at Murray County special

SLAYTON, Minn. – A $1,500 to win, 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying event gets top billing at Murray County Speedway’s Aug. 21 Swede Shootout/Muecke Memorial special.  There is no entry fee and Modifieds run for IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance Minnesota State points, but not track points, in their draw/redraw show.  Completing the Friday night program are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts with national, regional, state and track points on the line.  Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:15 p.m. with racing to follow.  Grandstand admission is $12 for adults and free for kids 8 and under. Pit passes are $30.

Johnson Memorial for Northern SportMods is Friday at Murray County

SLAYTON, Minn. – Murray County Speedway hosts its inaugural Brycen Johnson Memorial on Friday, July 10, paying $1,541 to win and a minimum of $241 to start the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod main event.  IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Com­pacts are also on the card at Slayton. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $30.  Pit gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:15 p.m. with racing to follow.  Event sponsors are Hadley Steel, Hadley Elevator, Hadley Liquor and Pizza Ranch of Slayton. Murray County Speedway hosts Friday Sprint Series of Minnesota show

SLAYTON, Minn. – Murray County Speedway rolls out the red carpet for the first of three visits this season by the Sprint Series of Minnesota on Friday, June 14.  IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars vie for $500 to win and a minimum of $150 to start. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, E3 Spark Plugs State and special series points will be awarded; there is no entry fee.  Miller Sellner Case IH is sponsor for the evening’s program, which also features IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts.  Pit gates open at 5:30 p.m., the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. and hot laps are at 7:15 p.m., with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students ages 11-17 and free for 10 and under.
