
Wedelstadt Holds Off Czarapata for First Modified Win of 2025

(May 9, 2025) — Tony Wedelstadt withstood a last-lap charge from former track champion Jason Czarapata to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the season at Luxy Raceway. The Combined Locks racer launched to the lead at the drop of the green flag and built a sizable advantage as Czarapata settled into second. While Wedelstadt looked dominant up top, Czarapata began reeling him in during the closing laps, setting up a thrilling finish. Czarapata, the 2014 Luxy Raceway and 2012 Wisconsin State champion, made a bold move on the final circuit, but Wedelstadt held his ground, narrowly edging out the veteran racer at the line. Josh Long, the 2019 Wisconsin State titleholder, completed the podium after a consistent run in third.
