Regular racing season begins at Off Road Speedway

(May 11, 2024) – The 2024 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season, and with it the chase for individual points championships, began Saturday night at Off Road Speedway. Among the feature winners in the sanctioned classes competing on a weekly basis were Anthony Roth in the IMCA Sunoco Late Models, Cameron Wilkinson in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Nic Kimmel in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and James Roebuck in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Roth, a Columbus racer, started on the outside of row two in the Late Model feature and remained among the top five during the first half of the race while multi-time defending national champion Cory Dumpert held the lead. With 11 laps left in the 25-lap race, a caution created an opportunity for Roth to get to the front. Dumpert drifted high in turn two before diving back to the inside, attempting to occupy the space between Roth and Chase Osborne, but as the cars sped down the backstretch Roth had the lead. Wray is A-OK at Boone Speedway

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (May 11, 2024) – A beautiful night for racing greeted the 175 race cars checked in at the Boone Speedway on Saturday. First-time winner Cory Wray enjoyed his visit to victory lane in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds. Jake McBirnie took the win in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and it was Cam Reimers with a thrilling finish at the line in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods. Eric Knutson also took the checkers in the final moments in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Travis Stensland repeated his win from last week in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Mod Lites ran 15 laps kicking off the night’s feature racing. It didn’t take long for sixth place starter Stensland to get to the front, taking command on lap two. IMCA Stock Car win shocks ex-street stocker Domagala

By Becca Pelkey MANDAN, N.D. (May 10, 2024) – A driver with admittedly low expectations for his rookie IMCA Sunoco Stock Car season was a feature winner in his first start in the new division. Hunter Domagala won the first weekly feature for the Stock Cars at Dacotah Speedway, taking advantage of a late-race caution and miscues by the two cars running ahead of him following the ensuing restart. “We had very little expectations. I’m kind of shocked we won,” said Domagala, the WISSOTA Street Stock champion the last four years that class ran at Mandan. “There’s a whole new learning curve with this class and I told my crew we were going to try to learn something new every night. Seibold rings up career first IMCA Stock Car win

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (May 9, 2024) – His phone started ringing right after Brian Seibold’s Thursday night IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win at Park Jefferson Speedway. It hasn’t stopped. The victory was Seibold’s first in nearly 120 career starts in The Class Too Tough Too Tame dating to 2019. Mike Nichols, IMCA’s all-time wins leader, Texas hotshoe Shelby Williams and Todd Gereau completed the top four behind him. “It was pretty amazing, to say the least. James, Comer, Bryant gain first-night wins at Douglas County

(May 10, 2024) – The newest track in the Pacific Northwest to gain IMCA sanctioning, Douglas County Dirtrack formally opened its 2024 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season on Friday. The Douglas County Fairgrounds 3/10-clay oval hosted the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, and the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Track and state points were on the line, as well as Shaw Race Cars Western Region for the Modifieds. Bricen James stormed the castle with a brilliant last-lap move in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main event. The Albany racer reeled in Grey Ferrando in the last few laps and masterly timed an overtake move to get by him at the drop of the checkers. Ferrando had a speedy piece and stormed towards the front on the first lap. Ferrando was relatively quick but did have to negotiate some slower traffic, which allowed James to give chase. Brown, VanderBeek, Anderson score wins before rain halts CJ

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (May 10, 2024) – Night number two of the 2024 IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season at CJ Speedway was held Friday with Superior Steering Wheel & Graphics providing sponsorship and bonus money for all feature winners. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds saw defending track champion Jarrett Brown shoot into the lead from his outside front row start and go on to lead flag to flag in scoring the Fast Shafts All Star Invitational eligible qualifier and the $1,000 first place prize money. Brown had the field bunched up to his rear bumper following a minor spin and on the restart it appeared that Kurt Kile may be able to mount a challenge for the lead but Brown was able to move back out to a comfortable lead. Kile finished second to Brown ahead of Kyle Madden. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars saw a first-time visitor to the CJ Speedway on Friday night.
