Ward and Sproul Score Wednesday Modified Qualifier Wins at Super Nationals
By Ben Deatherage BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3, 2025) — Tim Ward raced his way to victory in Friesen Performance IMCA Modified Qualifier 1 Wednesday at Boone Speedway during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The 25-lap contest locked the top four finishers into the inside row of Saturday’s Big Dance. Wyoming’s Bryson Yeager jumped to the front on the opening circuit, with Ward — the 2023 Super Nationals champion and Saturday’s Prelude winner — close behind. The two battled through heavy lapped traffic by lap eight, with Ward using a slower car as a pick to wrestle the lead away on lap 13. Two late cautions gave Ward, originally from Mesa, Ariz., and now calling Harcourt, Iowa home, clear track to race to the checkers. Two-time Sunoco IMCA Stock Car Super Nationals winner Dallon Murty made a spectacular charge from 22nd in the Darin Duffy-owned no. 99X to finish second.
