Hibdon, Williams hoist Night 2 IMCA.TV Winter Nationals hardware

(Jan. 5, 2023) – Night two of the IMCA.TV Winter Nationals at Cocopah again saw 200-plus entries at Cocopah Speedway and saw Kollin Hibdon and Shelby Williams join repeat winner Shane Paris in victory lane.  The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds had a fast-paced 25-lap feature, controlled by Pahrump, Nev., transplant Kollin Hibdon, now calling Fargo, North Dakota home.  Hibdon encountered lapped traffic around the 13th circuit, but none of it slowed him down before he took the $1,000 checkers to earn Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility.  Californian Ethan Dotson ended in second over Kody Scholpp of Saskatchewan.  Minnesota racer Curt Lund led early in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car 25-lapper before Texas speedster Williams took charge.  Williams stayed solid despite having to deal with four restarts.  Opening night winner Jim Horejsi challenged late before settling for second and third went to Zachary Madrid. 2023 IMCA.TV Winter Nationals open with a bang!

(Jan. 4, 2023) – Wednesday was opening night of the 2023 IMCA.TV Winter Nationals at Cocopah Speedway and the 3/8-mile oval, known as the Diamond In The Desert, attracted over 230 race teams from across North America to compete in the winter extravaganza.  Arizona native Tim Ward won the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature and $1,000 while Minnesotan Jim Horejsi topped the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature and pocketed $750. Defending Winter Nationals king Shane Paris took the $750 Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod checkers, Thomas Daffern scored the $500 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory and Kevin Reuter raced to the $250 Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact win. Buzz about IMCA.TV Winter Nationals has 452 pre-entered at Cocopah 

SOMERTON, Ariz. (Dec. 19, 2022) – Cocopah Speedway will be the place to be for IMCA drivers looking to get a fast start to their 2023 season. The proof is in the numbers. Four hundred and fifty-two drivers in five divisions are now pre-entered for January’s IMCA.TV Winter Nationals. The early entries make their way to Cocopah from more than 20 states and three provinces. “In my wildest dreams, I could imagine having this many pre-entries. More IMCA drivers earn more IMCA.TV replay bonus money

VINTON, Iowa (Dec. 19, 2022) – More drivers in more divisions earned more – a lot more – IMCA.TV bonus money in 2022. A total of 501 drivers in the nine divisions sanctioned by IMCA earned shares of more than $65,000 generated by replays of weekly and special events at 38 tracks broadcast by IMCA.TV or its affiliates. As promised, consistency, minor clarifications in 2023 IMCA rules

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nov. 26, 2022) – The best of the best were honored Saturday night as IMCA returned to Lincoln for the 2022 national awards banquet. Nearly 600 people attended the event, held at the Cornhusker Marriott. Chevrolet Performance pays record $49,750 in bonuses to 2022 IMCA crate engine track champions

VINTON, Iowa (Nov. 30, 2022) – Chevrolet Performance bonuses totaling a record $49,750 have been paid to IMCA drivers winning track championships while competing exclusively with crate engines in 2022. Cook runs with the best, races to rookie honors in EQ Southern Stock Car Region

FORT WORTH, Texas (Nov. 28, 2022) – Cameron Cook went into his first IMCA Sunoco Stock Car season looking to run with the best and win rookie of the year. He did both, and became a state champion, too. The 22-year-old from Fort Worth won two features and consistently finished in the top five en route to earning both the EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region rookie of the year award and the Texas State championship. “I’m a hometown kind of driver. Seat time, good help boost Burlison in Jet Racing Central Region rookie quest

MALVERN, Ark. (Nov. 28, 2022) – Race fans around Arkansas and the drivers he competed against weren’t surprised to hear that Noah Burlison earned Jet Racing Central Region rookie of the year honors this season. Poel proves up to challenge in race for Dirt Works Eastern Region rookie award

NUNICA, Mich. (Nov. 28, 2022) – Jacob Poel turned his first laps in a race car at Thunderbird Raceway nearly 20 years ago.  He raced to his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature win at the Muskegon oval this spring and collected five checkers in all in earning Dirt Works Eastern Region rookie of the year honors.  “Last year I said, ‘Let’s get an IMCA Modified and a couple crate engines and race closer to home,’” stated Poel, from Nunica. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and acclimated well to the division.
