Dinsmore Dominates for Wednesday Modified Win at I-37

By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Jun. 11, 2025) – The opening night of I-37 Speedway’s three-race Wednesday mini-series for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds put $1,000 on the line, and Logan Dinsmore made sure no one else came close to touching it. After redrawing the pole, Dinsmore jumped out front at the drop of the green when Dean Abbey brushed the front stretch wall. Abbey lost momentum, allowing Cody Leonard to slip into second. Jared Maupin worked by both Abbey and Leonard to grab the runner-up spot, with Abbey quickly reclaiming third and setting his sights on Maupin. While Maupin and Abbey diced for second, Dinsmore stretched his advantage. By halfway, the Kerrville hotshoe had checked out entirely. Abbey finally got around Maupin late, but it was too little, too late to challenge the leader. Dinsmore, flawless in traffic, cruised to his first GRT Race Cars South Central Region win of the season. Abbey and Maupin rounded out the top three.

Skylar Pruitt: From the Horn of Africa to Victory Lane at Stuart

By Ben Deatherage STUART, Iowa (Jun. 13, 2025) — In a town of just 1,700 nestled along Interstate 80, Skylar Pruitt’s story is one of grit, devotion, and second chances. Born and raised in Stuart, Pruitt now races Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks at Stuart International Speedway — the same track his family has been tied to since the late 1970s. But the road that brought him back to the driver’s seat wasn’t a straight one. Racing Blood and a Restart “My family has lived in Stuart or the area our whole lives,” Pruitt said. “They started racing I don’t know when — late ‘70s, early ‘80s — and the bloodline just stayed with me.” He grew up going to the track with his dad Curtis and grandfather Ted. His first taste of speed came on two wheels, not four. “My dad bought me my first dirt bike when I was three. We ran them for a while and then got out of that. I had a full ride with a company, but they went out of [Read More]

By Ben Deatherage DUBUQUE, Iowa (Jun. 8, 2025) — Joel Callahan put on a clinic in the 25-lap, $1,000-to-win Sunoco IMCA Late Model main event at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. The three-time track champion used the high line to power into the lead on the opening circuit and built a commanding advantage on the historic 3/8-mile oval. Despite persistent pressure from Clay Simpson, Callahan looked unshakable. Simpson’s challenge cooled as Ron Klein took over second and began to close in. But Klein’s charge ended with a spin in turn four on lap 22, setting up a three-lap sprint to the finish. Callahan executed a flawless restart to earn his second Dubuque win of the season and the coveted Sunoco Race Fuels Bonus, which included a commemorative door panel, fuel jug, hat, and $300 prize. Simpson held on for second over two-time defending track champion Eric Pollard. Joel Callahan celebrates in victory lane after scoring the $1,000 Sunoco IMCA Late Model win on June 8 at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. Lamphere Charges to Second Win After Wild Woodhull Modified Feature

By Joe Cook WOODHULL, N.Y. (Jun. 7, 2025) – A string of early cautions slowed the start of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Woodhull Raceway, setting the stage for a dramatic and unpredictable main event. Shawn Bruce led the opening laps before mechanical trouble forced him to the back of the field, bringing out a yellow. That handed the lead to Jakub Ingham, who paced the field for a couple circuits until longtime Street Stock veteran Earl Zimmer muscled his way into the top spot. But heartbreak struck again—Zimmer’s car suffered a rear-end failure that ended his night prematurely. Ingham regained the lead, but his challenge was just beginning. Keith Lamphere, charging forward with momentum, closed in and eventually made the pass to take over the top spot. Lamphere then held off all challengers to score his second win of the season at Woodhull and second overall in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region. Ingham settled for a strong runner-up finish, with Jacob McConnell crossing the line third.

Kinzley Captures First 2025 Win in Don Gumke Memorial Thriller

By Becca Pelkey JAMESTOWN, N.D. (June 7, 2025) – Jamestown Speedway hosted the 6th Annual Don Gumke Racers Memorial on Saturday night. Gumke, a racing legend from the Jamestown area, competed for many decades across the country before tragically passing away in January of 2020 while working on his race car. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds honored his legacy by battling for a $2,222 top prize in one of the region’s competitive events. When the green flag waved, Marcus Tomlinson and Jordan Sours traded early sliders in a spirited duel for the lead. An early caution regrouped the field, and on the restart, Quentin Kinzley found momentum along the high side of the track. He surged past both Tomlinson and Sours to take command before a string of cautions disrupted the flow. Kinzley then came under fire from racing veteran John Corell, who was just as fast running the bottom groove. As the two navigated lapped traffic, Corell slipped by to take the lead with nine laps remaining. But a caution with six to go reshaped [Read More]

Mullen Masters Stock Car Main in $1,000 Showdown at Outagamie

By Joe Verdegan SEYMOUR, Wis. (Jun. 6, 2025) — Hometown driver Mike Mullen gave the locals plenty to cheer about at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour Friday. The second-generation driver not only pulled off feature wins in two divisions — the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars and one of the local divisions — he also scored heat wins in both classes, earning clean sweeps in each respective division. Mullen jumped into his IMCA Stock Car to scrap for the $1,000 top prize. Starting eighth on the grid, he sliced through the field to take second place by lap seven, right behind leader Travis Van Straten. Mullen motored past the former IMCA National champion to snag the lead on lap nine. While Mullen kept all challengers at bay, Van Straten had his hands full, duking it out with another former IMCA National champion, Rod Snellenberger, in the battle for second. By Ben Deatherage JEFFERSON, S.D. (June 6, 2025) — Zach Zeitner made it a perfect night in Sunoco IMCA Late Model action at Park Jefferson International Speedway, sweeping both features on a special Friday doubleheader. The Bellevue, Nebraska, driver claimed the regularly scheduled $1,000-to-win 25-lap feature and the rescheduled main event from the rained-out April 18 opener.
