Robby Sawyer Takes Modified Victory at Bakersfield Speedway

By Steven Blakesley BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (July 26, 2025) — Robby Sawyer won his third Friesen Pefromance IMCA Modified feature of 2025 at the new Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, persevering over an opening lap melee to win the 30-lap main event. Michael Scruggs jumped ahead of the 14-car field at the start of the feature. Scruggs then abruptly slowed and spun in turn four, gobbling up multiple cars for a large crash. Sawyer was able to drive through the carnage but clipped Scruggs for right side damage. Ricky Childress, Jr., Brad Watkins, and Bryan Clark were among the drivers unable to continue. Sawyer drove around Austin Kiefer on the restart to take control of the 30-lap contest, then pulled away for a commanding win — his third of the year in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Kiefer held off Brad Pounds to finish second. Tyler Bannister of Bakersfield won the 25-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature after starting seventh. Bannister took over second from Matthew Frazier on lap 13. Landon King had [Read More]

Richards Charges from 12th to Eagle Raceway Hobby Stock Victory

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (July 26, 2025) — Tanner Dowty led the early charge in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature, with Nick Jensen, Brad Burhenne, and Matt Rotschafer battling behind. Burhenne moved into second on lap three, while Eric Chab and Dillon Richards methodically advanced through the pack. A caution involving Rotschafer and Ben Becher tightened the field on lap six, and on the restart Richards blasted to the lead. Burhenne faded as Brayden Hurley climbed to third, then second. Hurley passed Chab for the runner-up spot on the final lap, but Richards was long gone. With the win, Richards upped his 2025 total to 11 victories in 12 starts at Eagle and now boasts 36 wins in the division in 2025—28 in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Harker Hustles to Third Modified Win of the Year The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature opened with a back-and-forth battle among Aaron Pella, Tyler Harr, Clint Homan, and Jaxon Saathoff. Roedl Outguns “The Hitman” for First Win of 2025

By Joe Orsini SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 25, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Outagamie Speedway kicked off with Dan Roedl grabbing the lead at the drop of the green. Roedl opened up a lead on the field and looked set to grab an easy checkered flag, but “The Hitman” Johnny Whitman had something else in mind. Whitman, the current point leader and defending division champ, started his march to the front by sliding inside Jayden Schmidt on lap seven to move up to fourth. A lap later, Whitman picked off Tanner Janke for third. By lap 11, Whitman snuck past Konnor Wilinski to take second. Meanwhile, Roedl was still setting the pace up front and held a lead of over two seconds when Whitman moved into the runner-up spot. That advantage shrunk to just two car lengths at the checkers, but it was enough for Roedl to earn his first victory of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Whitman added to his points lead with a second-place finish, and Wilinski [Read More]

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (July 22, 2025) — The Hancock County Fair’s Black Dirt Nationals continues to be good to Ethan Braaksma. Capitalizing on favorable heat race and main event draws, Braaksma held off Jeremy Mills to score his second straight Black Dirt Nationals IMCA Modified victory at Britt. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main saw Braaksma, a consistent contender at the fairgrounds oval, stay steady on the cushion while Mills tried to reel him in. Snellenberger Nabs No. 234 at Eagle River

By Joe Verdegan  EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (July 22, 2025) — Pulaski’s “Hot Rod” Snellenberger bumped his career Sunoco IMCA stock car feature win total to 234 by picking up that division’s feature win at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday. Wisconsin’s winningest driver in the division started sixth on the grid in the 20 lap contest. Initially, it appeared that front row starter Jonathan Miller had the feature win in the bag. The Eagle River driver sprinted into the lead at the drop of the green of the race. Miller wasted little time building up a decent cushion between himself and the rest of the field. Snellenberger caught up with Miller after six laps and pressured Miller for several circuits before flying past Miller on the high side on lap 12. It was his sixth triumph in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region with five coming at Eagle River. Snellenberger kept all challengers at bay and cruised to victory in the caution free event. Miller hung on to claim second place money. Last week’s feature winner Ryan Glembin [Read More]

Nielsen Nabs $1,000 Weishaar Memorial Hobby Stock Win

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (July 17, 2025) – Brandon Nielsen parked it in victory lane during the Jess Weishaar Memorial Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Kossuth County Speedway on Thursday night, collecting a cool $1,000 for his efforts in the 25-lap main event. Grant Haugland and Jay Sidles led the 17-car field to green, but it was Sidles who held the point after the first lap. Just two laps later, Jade Lange took over the top spot before a yellow flag flew on lap five. A restart followed, and that’s when Nielsen made his move. Nielsen powered into the lead on lap eight and never looked back, only slowed by a caution on lap 13. Driving a car still wrapped in last year’s Salute To Veterans Blue Angel tribute theme, the Spencer veteran scored his third win of the season at Algona and fifth overall in the 2025 B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Season point leader Josh Sidles settled for second, while a hard-charging Mike Smith completed the podium. Shryock Outduels Jennings in Stock [Read More]

Gaylord Edges DeVilbiss in .020-Second Photo Finish for Modified Glory at Marshalltown

By Kaden Krebs MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 18, 2025) – The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds delivered the race of the night at Marshalltown Speedway with a jaw-dropping 20-lap thriller. Zach Rawlins led early before Zane DeVilbiss threw a slick slider to take command. But the show wasn’t over. Tripp Gaylord lit the fuse in the closing laps, slicing through the field and reeling in DeVilbiss after late cautions re-bunched the pack. The two swapped sliders in a final-lap showdown that ended with Gaylord edging DeVilbiss by a razor-thin margin of just .020 seconds. Todd Shute crossed in third. The victory marked Gaylord’s fifth win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region—and his third at MoTown. Jenae Gustin Outduels Carter in Classic SportMod Showdown The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods turned up the intensity with Marshalltown’s own Jenae Gustin jumping to an early lead and navigating lap traffic with laser focus.
