Latest RaceSaver Nationals crown is career third for Bubak

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Sept. 1, 2024) – The 2024 IMCA Racesaver Nationals is in the books, and what a story it was as Jake Bubak’s career third crown came with an event record $12,000 check. Bubak led Joey Danley across the Sunday night stripe at Eagle Raceway to add another trophy and custom made belt to his collection from 2020 and 2022 triumphs. Third in the Saturday qualifier and winner of the BlueMax Pay Race of Champions the same night, Bubak passed John Carney and then Danley following the scheduled stoppage on the 30th of 50 laps. “It took us a little while to get going. I’m actually glad that it was a long race because it benefited the way our car was,” Bubak said, during the combined victory celebration and birthday party for car owner Ben Aufill that followed the 12th annual event. “I think the biggest part of the win was getting up to third and being able to choose our line on the restarts during the two-wide restarts in the second stage.” [Read More]

Record pre-entries for 42nd annual Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 30, 2024) – They say records are made to be broken. That’s become the theme for the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Just two days after the number of pre-entries for the 42nd annual event eclipsed the 1,000 mark for the third consecutive year, a new Super Nationals pre-entry record was set when Danube, Minnesota’s Shaun Bruns became the 1,054th entry for America’s Racin’ Vacation. Bruns was the 279th IMCA Sunoco Stock Car to register, also a pre-entry record. New early registration marks were also established with 84 STARS IMCA Mod Lites and 27 IMCA Sunoco Late Models. There are 241 Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds entered, along with 182 Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods, 164 IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and 77 Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. The Hobby Stocks and SportMods are also nearing record pre-registration totals. Among the 1,054 entries so far, 30 states are represented, along with two Canadian provinces and Australia. Saturday wins are first of season for three at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 24, 2024) – A fast track provided great racing action Saturday night at Arlington Raceway. There were three different leaders in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Shaun Bruns led the first 13 laps with Josh Larsen on his tail. Bruns and Tim Pessek then dueled multiple laps with Bruns falling back, Pessek taking over the lead and Dave Moriarty moving up a couple spots to challenge. A yellow flag came out for a spinning car on the 17th lap. On the restart, Moriarty took the lead and remained in front to win his first feature of the year. Pessek took second but was docked two spots in post-race tech. That gave second place to Matt Looft and third to Dan Eckblad. Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts saw a new car in victory lane with Zach Vande Kieft having a solid lead over Justin Dose in his drive to the checkers. Alan Lahr held on for third place. Off-track Super Nationals activities centered at NAPA Fan Zone

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 23, 2024) – The NAPA Racing Fan Zone is again the locale for many of the special off-track events during the week of the 42nd annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway. Located south of the main grandstand at Boone Speedway, the Fan Zone will be site of scheduled and perhaps some spontaneous activities beginning with the Sunday, Sept. 1 Prelude show and continuing through the Sept. 2-7 Super Nationals. “What’s new this year is the Tuesday afternoon Women in IMCA presented by NAPA and Dynamic Drivelines,” noted Carson Becker-Gramm, marketing integration and sponsorship director for IMCA. “Female drivers have played an important role in this organization for more than 40 years. 15 states represented, early entries top 100 for $12,000 to win IMCA RaceSaver Nationals

EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 21, 2024) – Announce your plans to host the top-paying event in IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car history and drivers from coast to coast and border to border will be quick to make their plans to be there. Kepner goes high for Path Valley win

By Frank Buhrman SPRING RUN, Pa. (Aug. 17, 2024) – Sometimes you just have to stand out in the crowd. The field for Saturday’s River Valley Builders Pennsylvania Sprint Series feature at Path Valley Speedway was hugging the inside of the quarter-mile bullring, so Kruz Kepner went high, made the outside work and earned the checkered flag for the 25-lap IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event. The six-year veteran worked hard to make his no. 19 ride work near the top of the high-banked oval, but it paid off, enabling him to slip past rookie Kyle Hart on lap 15. Hart was looking for his first PASS win in only his ninth start, but he couldn’t get his car through lapped traffic at the bottom. Nor, for that matter, could anyone else, except the winner, who took the checkered flag by 1.363 seconds. Harris saves best for last at Natural Bridge

(Aug. 17, 2024) – On a very warm, humid summer race night Jerald Harris waited until three laps to go to sweep into the lead for his fourth Virginia Sprint Series win of the season. Saturday’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature at Natural Bridge Speedway was paced to the green with Chris Humblet and Dylan Shatzer on the front row as the flag waved. Shatzer went to the cushion and it was the quick way around as Harris was racing with Humblet. Harris got by and started to close in, but a quick caution for a stalled car tightened up the field went green. Shatzer stayed fast with Harris behind and Humblet, Daren Bolac and Caleb Harris staying close as the laps clicked off and the back of the field came up to the leaders.
