Loverude tops IMCA Modifieds at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 25, 2024) – Trent Loverude led 19 of the 20 laps, including the most important one, in Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Arlington Raceway. Loverude powered to the lead on the first circuit while Dan Menk and Todd Stinehart battled behind him. Stinehart who had started ninth, got around both cars on lap 15 but Loverude was able to regain the lead and go on to win the race. Menk finished third. Another ninth place starter, Trevor Serbus, made his way to the front of the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and led the last five laps, winning ahead of Hunter Hanson and Matt Johnson. Matt Looft was the third different and the final leader in a pair of features, the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Harris brings broom to Natural Bridge

(May 25, 2024) – On the first hot humid night of the season, Jerald Harris was on a hot streak sweeping his heat and feature for his second Virginia Sprint Series feature win of the year. Harris and Matthew Leach paced the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car field at Natural Bridge Speedway to green and Harris was out first with Leach, Chris Humblet and John Scarborough in tow. On lap two, Leach spun in turn two to reload the field and Harris took off again with Humblet and Scarborough racing for second. On lap five, Leach and John Smith got together, ending the night for both. Harris took off with Humblet and Scarborough right with him Dylan Shatzer and Caleb Harris were racing for fourth. Rhodes scores PASS win at BAPS

(May 19, 2024) – The River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series’ return to BAPS Motor Speedway Sunday was just what Zach Rhodes and the Weaver Racing team needed, as they posted a wire-the-field performance for win number one in 2024. The McVeytown driver had finished 16th and 10th in the first two events of this overly wet season, decidedly disappointing after ending 2023 with a win at Port Royal Speedway before a World of Outlaws crowd. On this night, though, Rhodes took advantage of the best weather so far in 2024 to show the magic is still there. After grabbing the initial lead from fellow front-row starter Ken Duke, Rhodes used five perfect restarts to hold off Duke – and several other would-be challengers within striking distance – and crossed the finish line nearly three-quarters of a second ahead of the two-time PASS and 2019 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car national champion. Saturday IMCA feature wins are especially sweet at Eagle

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (May 18, 2024) – Benji Legg was among the IMCA drivers enjoying the sweet taste of victory on Buckets of Candy Night Saturday at Eagle Raceway. Legg led Tyler Jackson, Thomas Etherton and Jeremy Down in taking the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers at America’s Home Track. “I won a lot of races in a SportMod here and then quit racing after 2015. Bittner wins after Reed dominates at Hagerstown

By Jim Haines HAGERSTOWN, Md. (May 18, 2024) – Timmy Bittner was in the right place at the right time. Austin Reed was not, in the Saturday feature race at Hagerstown Speedway co-sanctioned by the Virginia Sprint Series and the Laurel Highlands Sprint Series. With rain outs in the area everywhere, 35 IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars signed in to the smooth fast oval and the feature line up was led by Ken Duke and Kenny Heffner. As the field went green, out front like a rocket was Reed, who started to pull away lap after lap, leaving Duke, Heffner and Bittner to fight over the runner-up spot. Reed was not going to be caught as the laps were winding down, with Bittner making his way to second, Heffner in third and Josh Spicer and Duke acing for fourth. Hesse hauls to career first checkers at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 18, 2024) – Cole Hesse became a first-time winner, on a night of firsts Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The Gibbon hotshoe made the most of the lower line, made his way to the front of the field by lap five and then made his way to victory lane following his career-first Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod victory. “Definitely down low was fastest, and it seemed like (turns) one and two were better for me,” said Hesse, who would pull away to a two second advantage before the end of the race. “I’ve got one trophy now and hopefully I can add more. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars salute the troops at South Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (May 17, 2024) – South Texas Race Ranch salutes those who have and those who are now defending the freedoms we hold near and dear on Saturday, May 25. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars chase a top prize of $1,200 at the long-running Salute to the Troops special during the upcoming Memorial Weekend. A minimum of $320 will be paid to start that event and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and Texas State points will be awarded. Draw fee is $30. Pit passes are $35, or $15 for 6-12 and free for five and under. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, and free for kids 12 and under. Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing is at 7 p.m.
