Ward rewarded with $10,000 on opening night of Clash at the Creek

FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (June 11, 2024) – A regular at 141 Speedway’s Clash at the Creek since 2018, Tim Ward could recall “hanging around for a while” before falling back and out of contention in his best prior outing in the Francis Creek. That changed Tuesday night as Ward took charge after midway of the 50-lapper for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, earning $10,000 and his career 99th victory in the class. “This is such a tough place to win,” Ward acknowledged, after matching career-best paydays from the 2021 Land of 10,000 Lakes Tour finale and last year’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s main event. “I was one of the favorites here last year, started 13th, got up to sixth and just ran out of time,” he said. “This time I had a really good race with Jake (McBirnie) the first half. Speedway Illustrated, Croell Inc. Night this Sunday at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (June 12, 2024) – There will be a little of something for everyone this Sunday, June 16 at Benton County Speedway during Speedway Illustrated, Croell Inc. Night at The Bullring. Speedway Illustrated publisher Karl Fredrickson will be on-hand to gather photos and information for an upcoming article and will also be handling flagman duties for the evening’s program. A full night of action on the quarter-mile will showcase the IMCA Weekly Racing program sponsored by Croell Inc. $2,000 to win Stock Car Shootout slated at Kossuth County

ALGONA, Iowa (June 11, 2024) – The 13th will be especially lucky for one IMCA Sunoco Stock Car driver at Kossuth County Speedway. Thursday’s Stock Car Shootout, presented by Beck’s Hybrids, at Algona pays $2,000 to win and is accompanied by B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. A minimum of $200 will be paid to start and the Stock Car portion of the June 13 program is draw redraw. Completing the card are Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, state and track points will be awarded. Pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is $12 for adults and free for kids ages 12 and under. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. Racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps. The Stock Car Shootout will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.

Win to Bjerkeset, Lund lands Arlington bonus

ARLINGTON, Minn. (June 8, 2024) – Ryan Bjerkeset went home with the win and Curt Lund went home with a $500 bonus after the Rice Companies VIPs added a little twist to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature Saturday at Arlington Raceway. As much as an additional $2,100 was on the line for drivers accepting the back row challenge: They’d get the full amount if they won, or an extra $500 by advancing the most positions toward the front. Two drivers took the challenge, Lund and Ken Tietz, and with extra money on the line, the race was understandably intense. Jeff McCollum was the first lap leader with Matt Speckman in second; the positions were reversed on the following circuit. By the ninth lap, Bjerkeset was in the mix from his 11th place start. By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (June 8, 2024) – Fans at Iowa’s Action Track were treated to the annual topless racing spectacular Saturday night, as both Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods ran sans roofs. The Capital Signs Co. Dirty 30’s saw the roofs and sails removed from both divisions as they raced for $1,200 for the Modified victory and $1,000 for the SportMods. Jake McBirnie and Taylor Kuehl got the distinct honors of taking home those prizes. Johnathon Logue clawed his way to the front and took checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Braden Gifford got his first-ever win in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks in a wild and crazy race, and Charlie Brown got back to victory lane in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Ferrando is first Friday at Douglas County

(June 7, 2024) – Douglas County Dirtrack fired up for another round of Friday night action, attracting a strong field of cars in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod divisions. The Modified main started with Bennett Bray taking the lead on the opening circuit before a lap two yellow. Grey Ferrando maneuvered his way around the outside of Bray for the front spot when the race resumed. The race was a fierce battle for some of the top positions, with Ferrando establishing a significant lead and the fight for second place heating up between Carter Patterson and Bricen James. James obtained second from Patterson on lap nine, but Patterson got it back on the 12th trip past the flag stand. Things got intense with five to go in lapped traffic. Ferrando negotiated traffic with Patterson and James tussling behind him. Patterson started to pull away but was caught and overtaken on lap 23 by James. Dosch delivers first IMCA Stock Car win at Dacotah

(June 7, 2024) – Matt Dosch became a first-time IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature winner while Quentin Kinzley won his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature since 2022 Friday night at Dacotah Speedway. Casey Binstock and Jason Berg led the field to the green flag in the Stock Car feature. Berg grabbed the early lead before Shawn Strand slipped by on lap two. Strand’s lead was short-lived however as Dosch took over on lap three. Dosch started to pull away until a mid-race caution regrouped the field. On the restart, it was a thrilling battle for third between Berg, Jaden Christ, Hunter Domagala and Marlyn Seidler. With only a few laps remaining, the second-running Strand started to change his driving line and close in on Dosch. Rust, Paris are sharp in topless shows at Marshalltown

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Friesen Performance Northern SportMods both removed their tops for the unique race program. Mother Nature tried to stop the fun, but a few sprinkles during the SportMod feature, didn’t stop the show, and racing action returned quickly. Joel Rust won the exciting Modified feature and it was Shane Paris winning in the SportMods. Cayden Carter ran away and hid in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car event, Calvin Dhondt came from row six to take the checkers in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock division and Illinois racer, Jason Masengarb took top honors in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Brockert breaks dry spell at CJ Speedway

By Jerry Mackey COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (June 7, 2024) – Kemper Trucking & Excavation sponsored Friday night racing action at CJ Speedway located on the Louisa County Fairgrounds in Columbus Junction, Iowa. The race car count continues to grow in 2024 and the racing was very good on Friday night. Dan Brockert broke a three-year dry spell by capturing the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. The Class Too Tough To Tame ran its feature as the headliner of the night and the main saw a stout field of 14 drivers take the initial green flag. Brockert took off from his pole position start but was never able to break away for a comfortable lead. Kirk Kinsley applied pressure early before Corey Strothman was able to take over the second spot and close on Brockert. John Oliver Jr. and Chad Krogmeier advanced toward the front from eighth and sixth position starts, respectively, and joined the lead pack as well. Show-Me State sprinter gets first Eagle win

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (June 8, 2024) – His weekly tow from Bates City, Mo., paid off Saturday night with Jack Thomas’ first-ever Eagle Raceway feature win. The Hurryin’ Missourian topped the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car main event, taking the lead from Shayle Bade with six laps to go and outrunning Bade, Cody Ledger and Brandon Horton following a restart the next go-around. “We did what we needed to do and got it done tonight,” said Thomas, a winner in his career 20th start in the winged class. “I can’t thank everybody who helps us out enough, my Mom and dad, my crew who did a phenomenal job on the car. To get this win at a place like this is really great!
