Collisions, cautions and competitive racing at Off Road Speedway

(Aug. 3, 2024) – Competition during Saturday night’s program at Off Road Speedway included battles not only for the lead, but also for positions among the top five. As a result, collisions and cautions, and even a pair of roll-overs, created a busy night for the track’s wrecker service as damaged cars were escorted to the pit area. Jordan Uehling, who had led all of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature’s prior 14 laps, spun out after making contact with the rear of Gage Koch’s car as the two exited turn four, followed closely by cars driven by Nate Buck and Jason Wilkinson. Video of the race convinced race officials that Koch had attempted a slide job as he entered turn four and, as his car skidded up the track impeded Uehling, who could not avoid contact which caused the spin-out. Maquoketa Speedway host Kids’ Night as 122 teams pack pits

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Aug. 3, 2024) – Kinion Auto Sales hosted Kids Night at the races with an outstanding field of 122 race teams in attendance at Maquoketa Speedway on Saturday night. The IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature took the green with rookie Carter Johnson setting the pace early. Johnson was overtaken by another young driver in Chase Brunscheen before the 93 of Brunscheen slipped off the top side of turn, four allowing Bryce Garnhart to take the lead. Garnhart went on to set sail on the lip of the track holding off the constant challenges of 10th starting Travis Denning. Garnhart held his line and held on for a hard-fought win a car length ahead of Denning with Evan Miller finishing a very close third. Improvements, updates continuing at Boone ahead of 42nd annual IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa (July 31, 2024) – Finish one project, check it off the list. Start another project, add it to the list. Season enters home stretch at Off Road

By Randy Pospishil sports@norfolkdailynews.com NORFOLK, Neb. (July 27, 2024) – Following Saturday’s regular program, the racing season at Off Road Speedway is now ready to enter the home stretch. Just four events are scheduled during the month of August, including a pair of memorial specials honoring Bob Haase and Lynn Langenburg, as well as championship night where unofficial points winners will be determined across the track’s five divisions. On Saturday, Cory Dumpert and Anthony Roth started side-by-side in the fourth row of the IMCA Sunoco Late Model field, then established a two-car chase well ahead of the rest of the pack before finishing first and second, respectively. Dumpert broke away following a caution four laps into the race with Roth in pursuit but unable to find an opening, even when the two cars caught up to lapped traffic with 10 laps left. Allstar Performance renews heat race win awards for 15th IMCA sponsorship season

WATERVLIET, Mich. (July 30, 2024) – The heat race win decals adorning IMCA race cars coast to coast and border to border again come courtesy of Allstar Performance. Drivers themselves must take the next step in making themselves eligible for post-season awards from the Watervliet, Mich., high performance parts manufacturer and 15-year IMCA sponsor. Heat race winner decals were distributed to all IMCA tracks at the beginning of the 2024 race season. Drivers winning 10 or more heat races this year receive $100 gift cards. Off Road Speedway offers double features

(July 12, 2024) – Racing fans were treated to a slate of double features in four of five divisions in a rare Friday night offering at Off Road Speedway. Likewise, with the season winding down, drivers were offered double the chances to make a move on the various points lists and none did more to improve their situation than Nate Buck, who won both features in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. The evening began with feature races postponed from last week’s weather-shortened special Ray Haase Tribute event including the sanctioned Hobby Stocks, Stock Cars and Northern SportMods before moving to the regular program of racing. Buck finished ahead of Mark Arduser and Parker Vollbrecht in the make-up feature then, in Friday’s scheduled event, moved quickly from the fifth row, keyed by momentum gained while exiting turn two on the outside during the fourth lap, that propelled his car down the backstretch and continued for two more laps before he finally wrestled the lead away from race leader Landyn Roebuck.
