Allstar Performance renews heat race win awards for 15th IMCA sponsorship season

WATERVLIET, Mich. (July 30, 2024) – The heat race win decals adorning IMCA race cars coast to coast and border to border again come courtesy of Allstar Performance. Drivers themselves must take the next step in making themselves eligible for post-season awards from the Watervliet, Mich., high performance parts manufacturer and 15-year IMCA sponsor. Heat race winner decals were distributed to all IMCA tracks at the beginning of the 2024 race season. Drivers winning 10 or more heat races this year receive $100 gift cards. The driver, regardless of division, winning the most heat races gets a $250 gift card. “What drivers have to do to become eligible for that $100 gift card, perhaps even the $250 car, is email a photo of their car proving heat race winner decal placement to me at contingencies@imca.com,” explained IMCA Marketing Integration and Sponsorship Director Carson Becker-Gramm. “All Star Performance gift cards will be presented during the IMCA national banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week.” IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock driver Cody Williams of Minneapolis, Kan., was [Read More]

Off Road Speedway offers double features

By Randy Pospishil sports@norfolkdailynews.com NORFOLK, Neb. (July 12, 2024) – Racing fans were treated to a slate of double features in four of five divisions in a rare Friday night offering at Off Road Speedway. Likewise, with the season winding down, drivers were offered double the chances to make a move on the various points lists and none did more to improve their situation than Nate Buck, who won both features in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. The evening began with feature races postponed from last week’s weather-shortened special Ray Haase Tribute event including the sanctioned Hobby Stocks, Stock Cars and Northern SportMods before moving to the regular program of racing. Buck finished ahead of Mark Arduser and Parker Vollbrecht in the make-up feature then, in Friday’s scheduled event, moved quickly from the fifth row, keyed by momentum gained while exiting turn two on the outside during the fourth lap, that propelled his car down the backstretch and continued for two more laps before he finally wrestled the lead away from race leader Landyn Roebuck. Grabouski checks Tanner Pelster Memorial off must-win list

ALBION, Neb. (July 8, 2024) – The one that got away last year didn’t get away Monday night. Jordan Grabouski led the last 11 laps of Boone County Raceway’s fourth annual Tanner Pelster Memorial, earning an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car career-best $6,111 payday for his efforts. “This race has been on my mind for about a year,” said Grabouski, runner-up last July after losing the lead and the big payday to Mike Nichols on the final circuit. “This race was one that I’ve had on my list that I’ve really wanted to win and I finally got it done.” Forty-plus Stock Cars from across the Midwest were entered at Albion after inclement weather forced postponement of the event from Sunday to Monday. Jacob Anson and Grabouski drew front row starts with Anson setting the fast pace before giving way to Dallon Murty on lap four. Grabouski lurked in third, with Tyler Iverson fourth on the lower line, before catching Anson on lap eight. Murty held onto the front spot through the first of what would [Read More]

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (July 6, 2024) – Saturday nights race program at the Maquoketa Speedway was hosted by our friends at Downtown Nutrition and the kids club hosted Christmas in July at the races. Kids were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Claus plus the Grinch was also in attendance. Travis Denning driver of the IMCA Sunoco Late Model number 56D presented all the youngsters with glowing wristbands and checkered flags.  The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature treated the fans with outstanding racing on a wide and smooth fast track. Mitch Way took control of the race early from his second row start and appeared to be on his way to his first Maquoketa Speedway win. A caution brought the field to his rear bumper just past the midway point. On the restart the battle was on, Scott Lemke took over the top spot and led for several laps before Jeff Larson took over. Way used his never give up attitude and used several sliders as Larson and Way swapped the lead back and [Read More]
