Dierks Dominates Davenport for $1,000 Payday

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (May 16, 2025) — Davenport Speedway hosted another $1,000-to-win Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature on Friday night, with the winner earning a spot on the eligibility list to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational later this summer. Brad Dierks capitalized on his pole position, leading all twenty laps to capture the flag-to-flag victory and secure his All-Star eligibility to try and qualify for the race at the 2025 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Dierks was untouchable from the drop of the green, building a comfortable lead and never looking back as he cruised to the win, his first this season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Ben Chapman started alongside Dierks on the front row and pressured the leader in the early stages. Still, as the laps wound down, Dierks maintained his advantage, preventing Chapman from making any significant challenge. Meanwhile, Spencer Diercks methodically worked his way from sixth to third. Miller Rides High Line to Late Model Win at 34 Raceway

By Ben Deatherage WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (May 10, 2025) — Evan Miller showcased his mastery of the high line to score his first Sunoco IMCA Late Model victory of the season at 34 Raceway. Jeremy Pundt led the early circuits, building a comfortable lead before a caution midway through the $1,000-to-win, 25-lap main reset the field and erased his advantage. Miller, the reigning Iowa State champion, capitalized on a mid-race restart to power around Jeremy Pundt on the high side, taking command on lap 14. A late caution with three laps to go bunched the field, but the Davenport driver maintained his momentum up top, fending off Curtis Glover to secure his first win of the 2025 season at 34 Raceway after starting fifth. Pundt, who led the early laps, rounded out the podium in third after a solid showing. Anderson Scores Modified Victory Logan Anderson added another impressive win to his 2025 campaign in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at 34 Raceway. The $1,000-to-win, 20-lap contest began with John Oliver Jr., in the Dennis [Read More]

Christensen Claims First-Ever Stock Car Win in Wild Shelby County Feature

By Don Hawkins HARLAN, Iowa (May 3, 2025) — Riley Christensen thrilled the Shelby County Speedway crowd with a dramatic breakthrough victory in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, leading the final laps of a wild feature that included multiple lead changes, a tangle between frontrunners, and a green-white-checkered finish. Christensen, of Audubon, grabbed the point on lap 1 but was reeled in by Mike Vondrak and Larry Robinson Jr. midway through the race. Vondrak snuck underneath to lead lap 10, but a caution changed everything. Robinson made a move on the restart and got around Vondrak in turn three, but the two made contact, bringing out another caution. Vondrak came to a stop, handing the lead back to Christensen. In the final laps, Christensen held off intense pressure from Dustin Reeh to claim his first-ever Stock Car feature win — a milestone that also marked his first career victory in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Reeh made a strong bid but had to settle for second at the finish, followed by Bryan Snell in third. [Read More]

Logan Veloz Takes First Late Model Win at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (Apr. 25, 2025) — Logan Veloz scored his first ever Sunoco IMCA Late Model feature win. The 21-year-old Colona, Illinois driver took the lead of the race on lap 3 and never looked back. Veloz becomes the third different Late Model feature winner at Davenport in as many races this season. Travis Denning started on the pole in the race and led the first two laps before finishing second. Evan Miller was third. The full field of Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds was sprinkled with some top-name talent.  Wisconsin’s Skyler Woods jumped out to the early lead in the 20-lap main. However, the race would be halted by a red flag on lap 5. An eight-car pile-up on the frontstretch blocked most of the track. All drivers involved were able to walk away from the incident. On the restart, Woods resumed the lead, but now with Spencer Diercks on his rear bumper. Spencer would grab the top spot on lap 10 and pace the field the rest of the way. Ben Chapman [Read More]

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Apr. 26, 2025) — Fans at Maquoketa Speedway were treated to a heart-pounding finish in the 25-lap Sunoco IMCA Late Model main event. Travis Denning appeared poised to go back-to-back, but a thrilling final-turn scramble in traffic opened the door for Mitch Morris. As the leaders split a lapped car coming to the checkers, Morris shot low while Denning went high, with Logan Veloz charging right behind them. Morris edged ahead at the line for his first win of the 2025 campaign, with Veloz nipping Denning for the runner-up spot.
