JAMESTOWN, N.D. (June 6, 2026) — Travis Hagen added another special-event victory to his resume Saturday night, charging to the front and capturing the seventh annual Don Gumke Racers’ Memorial for Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds at Jamestown Speedway.
The victory was worth $2,222 and also made the McGregor driver eligible to attempt to qualify for the 2026 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
The 25-lap feature produced intense racing from the opening green flag as defending track champion Quentin Kinzley and Marcus Tomlinson brought the field to the start. A caution on the opening lap slowed the action before John Nord emerged as the early leader following the restart.
Nord paced the field through the opening stages while Hagen methodically worked the low groove and reeled in the frontrunners. Kinzley maintained second for much of the early going, but Hagen steadily closed the gap as the race settled into a long green-flag stretch.
A caution just past the halfway point proved pivotal. Hagen utilized the bottom lane to pull even with Nord before completing the winning pass with 13 laps remaining. Another caution with six laps to go erased his advantage, but Hagen was flawless on the restart and drove away from the field over the closing circuits.
Kinzley threw everything he had at the leader over the final laps, using both the top and bottom grooves in pursuit, but Hagen remained firmly in control to score his first career Don Gumke Memorial victory. The triumph marked his third Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the season and his first at Jamestown Speedway in 2026.
Kinzley settled for second while John Corell completed the podium in third. Tomlinson crossed the stripe fourth.
The battle for fifth provided some of the night’s best racing as Nord, Scott Gartner, and Jacoby Traut exchanged positions in a furious three-wide fight during the closing laps. Nord ultimately claimed fifth while Gartner completed an impressive drive from 23rd starting position to sixth, earning Hard Charger honors and a $222 bonus.
