COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (Aug. 13, 2025) — Jesse Williamson dominated Wednesday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified 25-lap feature at Cottage Grove Speedway, scoring his second Shaw Race Cars Western Region victory of 2025. Both wins have come at CGS for the Coburg driver, a multi-time IMCA Wild West Speedweek champion and pilot of the SDMF Customs no. W5 house car.
Williamson jumped to the lead at the drop of the green and dealt with slower traffic as early as lap eight. The lone caution waved on lap nine, setting up a slider attempt from defending series and five-time reigning track champion Jake Mayden going into turn one. Williamson kept his cool, reclaimed the point, and set a torrid pace the rest of the way.
Even with more lapped traffic on lap 17, he was unshaken and drove to a convincing win over his younger brother Kevin, in the Superior Fuel Cells-owned no. 42, and Mayden in the Dustin Brooks-owned no. 5M.
Points Prevails for Fourth SportMod Win of 2025
Salem’s Trevor Points collected his fourth Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature win of the season, and his second in the last five nights at Cottage Grove Speedway. Points, the 2023 Oregon State champion, has now notched two wins at CGS this year.
Travis Pruitt paced the opening circuits of the 25-lap finale before Points tracked him down by lap five and secured the lead on the seventh trip around. Once in front, Points pulled away and built a big cushion as the race stayed green. Teammate Ricky Ashley, in the T.R. Points Trucking-owned no. 1185, reeled him in during the final laps but came up just short at the stripe. Aaron Bloom completed the podium.
Bryant Banks Third Sport Compact Victory of Season
Roseburg’s Melissa Bryant parked it in Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact victory lane for the third time in 2025 — all of them at Cottage Grove Speedway. The Lady Eagle racer also won at CGS last Saturday, making it two wins in the last five nights.
Starting third in the 20-lap finale, Bryant pressured early leader Charles Trissell until finally making the pass on lap five. Once in command, she checked out from the pack and handled traffic with ease in the final five laps. Trissell held on for second, while Melissa’s father, Burnie Bryant — the defending Midweek Mayhem Series and Oregon State champion — crossed in third.
The Midweek Mayhem event was broadcast live on IMCA TV affiliate Dirt Oval TV. Missed the action? Catch every lap on demand with an IMCA TV Replay Subscription—available now for just $24.99/month. Plus, don’t miss Season 2 of The Boone Docuseries, now streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
