EDDYVILLE, Iowa (Oct. 29, 2025) — Logan Anderson’s rookie campaign in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds was one to remember. The Eddyville racer captured the Razor Chassis North Central Region Rookie of the Year title and finished second in National Rookie of the Year standings — one year after winning the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s crown in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods.
Driving the Midstate Machine/Performer Chassis/Middlekoop Seed Corn Inc. no. 53 Modified, Anderson wasted no time proving his speed at the Modified level. He became the 22nd different driver from Iowa to win the Razor Chassis North Central Region Rookie of the Year award since the title’s inception in 1993, and the first Iowan to do so since Dyllan Ricks in 2023. Anderson also finished eighth in the final North Central Region standings, a strong showing in one of IMCA’s most competitive divisions.
“We had a good year and were winning pretty much out of the gate,” Anderson said. “We won six out of my first 12 races, but then we got in a crash and after that we weren’t as good. We ended up having to get a new car, and it just wasn’t the same — we never quite got it working like the other one.”
That May crash forced a midseason rebuild, but the 32-year-old stayed resilient. He went on to log 53 starts, collecting 11 wins, 18 podium finishes, 26 top-fives, and 39 top-tens. He found early success across eastern Iowa, scoring victories at 34 Raceway, CJ Speedway, and Marshalltown Speedway, then closing strong with August triumphs at 34 Raceway, CJ Speedway, and another at his home base in the region.
Anderson reflected on the transition from SportMods to Modifieds with the poise of a driver well beyond his rookie status.
“The change wasn’t too difficult — it was relatively the same except for a little more power and a little bit more suspension behind you,” he said. “You just have to be careful not to dial yourself out.”
Despite a strong start, the points battle brought late-season tension.
“I was leading the National Rookie standings for a while, but I was also in a points battle at CJ Speedway and lost that by one,” Anderson said. “I ended up falling short by seven points in the National Rookie race. I struggled the last two months and didn’t get the finishes I needed to do it, unfortunately.”
Still, his results spoke for themselves — a three-win streak in April, two more in May, and consistent top-fives through the summer. He was a weekly threat at 34 Raceway and CJ Speedway and posted podiums at Benton County, Bloomfield, and Maquoketa late in the season.
In total, Anderson’s 11 wins came at six different tracks — five at 34 Raceway, four at CJ Speedway, and one each at Marshalltown and Bloomfield.
