“The Showdown” Set for Nov. 7–9 at Central Arizona Raceway; $3,000 Sunday Payday for IMCA Modifieds

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Oct. 28, 2025) — Central Arizona Raceway will have the return of “The Showdown,” a three-day IMCA special presented by Toste Construction, running Friday through Sunday, Nov. 7–9, with an open practice on Thursday, Nov. 6. The weekend features Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, capped by a $3,000-to-win Modified main event on Sunday.

Action fires at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday. Pit gates open at noon Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. Grandstands open at 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at noon on Sunday.

Purses are stout all three days. Friday and Saturday pay $1,000 to win and $100 to start for Modifieds; $500 to win and $50 to start for Stock Cars; $500 to win and $50 to start for Northern SportMods; and $400 to win and $50 to start for Hobby Stocks. The top two finishers from Friday and Saturday’s main events in each division will be locked into Sunday’s championship feature, setting the stage for the big finale.

Championship Sunday ups the ante to $3,000 to win and $125 to start for Modifieds; $750 to win and $75 to start for Stock Cars; $1,000 to win and $75 to start for Northern SportMods; and $700 to win and $65 to start for Hobby Stocks.

Driver entry fees are $150 for Modifieds and $100 for Stock Cars, Northern SportMods, and Hobby Stocks.

Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $18 for military and seniors, and $10 for students ages 13–17. Pit passes are $45 for adults and $30 for youth ages 5–12.

Fans who can’t make it to Casa Grande can watch live on IMCA TV.

Berkeley wins first career Winter Nationals feature in Stock Car action

By Ben Deatherage (Photo Courtesy of Pixel Boss Productions) Casa Grande, Arizona (January 15, 2025)—Chase Berkeley surged to the front of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, leading all twenty laps to secure his first career victory at the IMCA TV Winter Nationals presented by Pitt Stop Motorsports at Central Arizona Raceway. The 2023 Winter Nationals champion faced several challenges throughout the race but ultimately fended off the advances of young Texan Cameron Starry. Despite the pressure, Berkeley maintained a consistent pace from start to finish. Starry attempted a few bold moves in the closing laps, but the leader, hailing from Colville, Washington, successfully held him off to clinch this significant win in EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region action. Starry finished as the runner-up, while Iowa’s Mike Albertsen completed the podium in third place. Silber Strikes Again in Casa Grande

(May 2, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds headlined a thrilling Friday night at Central Arizona Raceway, with 18-year-old Luke Silber storming to his second win of the season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. It was his first since opening night of the IMCA.TV Winter Nationals back on January 8th. Bill Miller and Mike Brandon battled for the early lead in the 20-lap main event, with Miller prevailing on the high side. Brandon kept the pressure on, joined by K.C. Dieckman in a spirited fight for second until Silber surged into the picture. He pulled off a double overtake on lap six to grab second, then took command the next time by. Entries already top 200 for IMCA Winter Nationals

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Dec. 17, 2024) – As the online promotions state, Winter Is Coming and Central Arizona Raceway is the place for IMCA drivers in six divisions to be in January. Ferrell is Class of Fields in Junior National and IMCA Hobby Stock Southern Region Ranks

(Oct. 28, 2025) — Hunter Ferrell walked across the stage and accepted his Bayfield High School diploma this spring, then raced to the top of the class in both IMCA Junior National Championship and B & B Racing Chassis Southern Region standings. The first driver from Colorado to accomplish either feat, Ferrell won 20 features in his career fourth Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock season. Fifth in national point standings, the much-traveled 18-year-old took 13 checkers and the track title at Utah’s Desert Thunder Raceway. (Oct. 22, 2025) — It’s hard to believe now, but there was a time not so long ago when Shawn Harker wondered if he’d ever win a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature.
