BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 3, 2025) —Two-time Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s champion Dallon Murty of Chelsea, Iowa, returned to victory lane Wednesday at Boone Speedway, winning Sunoco IMCA Stock Car Qualifier 1. The 25-lap contest locked the top four finishers into the inside row of Saturday’s Big Dance.

Braden Richards led the opening lap after starting fourth before cautions slowed the pace on laps six and nine. On the latter restart, Richards got sideways and collected several cars, handing the lead to Murty. The Chelsea driver stayed out front the rest of the way, though he bobbled slightly coming to the checkers.

Two-time 34 Raceway Stock Car champion Jeff Mueller made a last-lap run, but Murty held him off at the line. Murty started fifth, Mueller charged from 11th to second, reigning Jamestown Speedway Stock Car Stampede winner Jonny Carter of North Dakota came from 14th to third, and 2022 Marshalltown Speedway champion Michael Jaenette advanced from 15th to take the final transfer in fourth.

Former Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMod National champion Jeffrey Abbey of Rhome, Texas, topped Sunoco IMCA Stock Car Qualifier 2. The 25-lap feature also advanced the top four into the inside row of Saturday’s Big Dance.

Cole Suckow, the 2024 Independence Motor Speedway Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod champion, set the early pace from the drop of the green. He fended off 2007 Friesen Performance IMCA Modified National champion Jared Seifert after an early red and restart. Seifert kept the pressure on, but Suckow continued to lead until lap 15 when Abbey, who had started 12th, took command after a brief side-by-side battle.

Multiple late cautions set up back-to-back green–white–checkered finishes, but Abbey was untouchable out front and drove to the win. Suckow held on for second, Seifert finished third, and Jim Horejsi claimed the final transfer in fourth — qualifying for the Stock Car Big Dance at Super Nationals for the first time since 2001.

Qualifying for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational wrapped up late Wednesday night, with three-time reigning Kansas State Stock Car champion Tathan Burkhart turning the fastest lap. Burkhart earned the P1P Canopy Fastest Lap Award with his quick time of 17.839 seconds.
