VINTON, Iowa (Jul. 13, 2025) — The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods gave the Benton County Speedway crowd a thrilling show to kick off feature racing as Kyle Olson raced his way to his fourth win of the season and third at Benton County Speedway. Luke Bird showed the way early, but Tony Olson quickly moved into the top spot and looked strong until Kyle Olson made his presence known in the top three just a few laps in.
As the race progressed, the Olsons pulled away from the field while Brady Hilmer settled into third. Kyle continued to chip away at Tony’s lead before making the pass for the lead with just a few laps to go. Kyle went on to win, with Tony finishing second and Hilmer rounding out the podium.
Olson Makes It Two with Stock Car Score
Kyle Olson returned to victory lane later in the evening with his first Sunoco IMCA Stock Car win of the season. The race didn’t start smoothly, but Olson stayed calm and drove to the lead after the early chaos. Adam Streeter chased from second while John Oliver Jr. worked the low groove and eventually took the position.
A restart saw Oliver and Brandon Tharp lining up on Olson’s bumper, and the battle resumed. Tharp used the high line to get to second as Shane Richardson entered the picture late, but no one could stop Olson from completing the sweep and earning the EQ Cylinder Head Northern Region score. Oliver, Tharp, and Richardson followed him across the line.
Weepie Makes It Two Straight in Hobby Stocks
Dalton Weepie went back-to-back in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, scoring his second B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of 2025. Mike Kimm set the pace early, but Weepie, who started mid-pack, quickly moved through the field. After passing Joren Fisher and taking over the top spot using the low groove, Weepie never looked back.
Justin Stander ran third at halfway before Leah Wroten moved up to challenge. A late restart gave Fisher and Wroten one final shot, but Weepie held on for another checkered flag. Fisher took second, Wroten third.
Cordes Claims First Victory of 2025 Season
Troy Cordes returned to form in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds with his first Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the year. Cordes, Jacob Snyder, and Jerry Dedrick battled three-wide for the lead in the opening circuits before Cordes grabbed control.
Once out front, Cordes stretched his advantage while Dedrick and Snyder continued their battle for second. Spencer Diercks and Trevor Fitz worked through the pack, with Fitz eventually taking second using the low line. Cordes took the win ahead of Fitz, Dedrick, and Diercks.
Anderson Breaks Through in Sport Compacts
Jake Anderson captured his first win of the 2025 season in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts after a thrilling back-and-forth duel with Lukas Rick. Trevor Forey set the early pace while Cristian Grady briefly held the top spot before Anderson and Rick moved into contention.
Anderson found speed on the bottom and grabbed the lead with Rick in tow. The two raced side-by-side for several laps as the race stayed green. Anderson fended off the late charge and sealed the win. Rick settled for second, with Stephen Randall third and Robert Rundle fourth.
