Lamphere Charges to Second Win After Wild Woodhull Modified Feature

WOODHULL, N.Y. (Jun. 7, 2025) – A string of early cautions slowed the start of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Woodhull Raceway, setting the stage for a dramatic and unpredictable main event.

Shawn Bruce led the opening laps before mechanical trouble forced him to the back of the field, bringing out a yellow. That handed the lead to Jakub Ingham, who paced the field for a couple circuits until longtime Street Stock veteran Earl Zimmer muscled his way into the top spot.

But heartbreak struck again—Zimmer’s car suffered a rear-end failure that ended his night prematurely. Ingham regained the lead, but his challenge was just beginning.

Keith Lamphere, charging forward with momentum, closed in and eventually made the pass to take over the top spot. Lamphere then held off all challengers to score his second win of the season at Woodhull and second overall in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region.

Ingham settled for a strong runner-up finish, with Jacob McConnell crossing the line third.

Another rookie finds NY-Penn IMCA Modified success at Woodhull

WOODHULL, N.Y. (Sept. 28, 2024) – Dalton Maynard sold out his crate sportsman equipment and joined the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified ranks for the 2024 Close Racing Supply NY-Penn Series presented by Insinger Performance season. The New Albany, Pa., pilot struggled a bit with the change, with good runs through the season but inconsistent results, as he learned the changes needed in set up and driving style. The S&S Custom Auto Body team showed up at Woodhull Raceway determined to pull out a solidresult in the MJH Oilfield-sponsored season finale and instead of a period, Maynard’s story ended with an exclamation point. After a second place finish in his heat race put him on the inside of the second row for the main, the rookie grabbed the lead on the second lap and fought off every challenge to record his first IMCA feature win, earning $1,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility as well. Woodhull Raceway To Sanction IMCA Modifieds In 2025

(Apr. 16, 2025) – The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds are returning to “New York’s Toughest Bullring” in 2025, as Woodhull Raceway becomes part of the Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing program with five sanctioned events scheduled from May through September. Located in the Southern Tier of the Empire State, the 1/3-mile oval will host one IMCA Modified event each month, highlighted by the prestigious Sean Lias Memorial on July 26. The Memorial, now relocated to Woodhull, will pay $1,037 to win and $125 to start, and serve as a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifier. Sites wins wild one at Woodhull

(May 20, 2023) – After day-long rains, nobody expected racing to happen at the 1/3 mile Woodhull Raceway for the 2023 Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by M.R. Grafix. But the persistence of the track crew in not giving up and prepping the surface meant racing did happen, and Eddie Sites won his second Friesen Performance IMCA Modified series event of the season in a wild finish. Gary Roberts and Shawn Bruce brought the field to the green for the 25-lap feature event, with Roberts spinning in turn one, collecting Sites and Rodney Morgan. Rich Michael Jr. took the lead on the restart as Bruce battled with Tyler Stoddard for third. Stock Car Spotlight Shines on Worthington Speedway on June 14

(Jun. 12, 2025) — The stars of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars will be out in full force this Saturday, June 14 at Worthington Speedway, with a $2,000 payday awaiting the winner of the special event. Stock Cars will run a draw/redraw format and compete for IMCA National, EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, Minnesota State, and track points. There is no entry fee for drivers, though a $35 pit pass is required. A free Hoosier Racing Tire will also be given away to one lucky competitor. A lucrative purse structure will reward top finishers, with $1,000 for second, $600 for third, $400 for fourth, and $300 for fifth. Sixth through 10th will pay $250, $240, $230, $220, and $210 respectively, with all other A-main starters earning $200. Probst Powers to Third Arlington Hobby Stock Win

(Jun. 7, 2025) — In Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock action at Arlington Raceway, Jonathan Schroeder was the early leader until he pulled off the track on lap 9, following a yellow for Taylor Manderfield’s engine issues. That opened the door for Cory Probst, who took over after the restart and never looked back. The Brewster driver powered to his 13th victory of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region and third of the year at Arlington. Jordan Robinson followed Probst across the line in second.
