ESTEVAN, SK (May 3, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds delivered an intense showdown for the 2025 opener at Estevan Motor Speedway. Five-time defending track champion Kody Scholpp set the tone early, bolting to a big lead before multiple cautions brought the field back to him. Aaron Turnbull and Steven Pfeifer—both decorated veterans—traded the second spot behind Scholpp, with Turnbull eventually getting the edge by lap 7.
A caution on lap 9 tightened the pack again, and a final yellow with just eight laps remaining set up the feature’s pivotal moment. Turnbull, making the high side work to perfection, slipped past Scholpp for the lead on lap 18. The Estevan native began to pull away as Pfeifer and Scholpp resumed their fight for second.
Turnbull, a two-time track champion and the 2013 Dakota Classic Mod Tour champ, earned his first Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the season. His son Eli had earlier won his first-ever Slingshot race, making it a special night for the Turnbull family. Scholpp settled for second, with Pfeifer—a two-time Estevan track titlist—close behind in third.
Scholpp Rallies From 13th in Gritty Performance
The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event saw Chase Davidson and Gabe Deschamp mix it up at the front early, but the spotlight soon turned to Kyle Scholpp. Starting 13th, the Lampman driver methodically climbed through the field, eventually moving past Deschamp on lap 13 with a bold move on the high side.
Multiple late cautions gave Deschamp a chance to respond, including a green-white-checkered finish that set up one last showdown. Deschamp dove low in a last-ditch slider attempt, but Scholpp powered back around and surged ahead to score his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season. Davidson finished third behind Deschamp in the runner-up spot.

Deschamp Continues Hot Streak with Commanding Win
The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods feature opened with Keenan Glasser and Rylan Raynard trading spots early, but reigning Tougher Than Dirt Tour champion Gabe Deschamp, pulling double duty, quickly surged to the front. The defending Estevan track champion took over on lap 6 and never looked back.
The Westhope, North Dakota, driver sliced through lapped traffic with ease and survived late pressure. Deschamp, now has two SportMod wins on the year, including the Frostbuster at Marshalltown, crossed the line comfortably ahead of Runge, who bested Rylan Raynard in a tight battle for second.

Raynard Outlasts Saxon for First Win of 2025
In the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock finale, Diezel Raynard inherited the lead after Ty Saxon’s flat tire sent him to the pits. From there, Raynard set the pace while Cash Saxon lurked close behind, waiting for an opening. A pair of late cautions—including one with just two laps remaining—gave Saxon multiple chances to pounce.
Raynard was unfazed, nailing each restart and holding his line to score his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of the new year. The Lampman racer started third and earned a memorable victory, with Saxon finishing second and Brody Singleton third.
