Smiley’s starts second season as title sponsor for IMCA Southern SportMods

MESQUITE, Texas – The Smiley’s Racing Products banner flies over IMCA’S Southern SportMod division again in 2019.

The Mesquite, Texas, high-performance parts manufacturer and distributor provides a portion of the $9,500 point fund to be paid to top 15 drivers in national standings for the class. This is the second in a three-year pact inked last year.

“Smiley’s is honored and proud to again sponsor IMCA’s Southern SportMod division. IMCA has done so much and worked so hard for grassroots racers and to keep the local racing affordable for so many years,” Smiley’s owner Tom Lorenz said. “During the 15 years Smiley’s has sponsored IMCA, they’ve been a huge part of our success at Smiley’s Racing Products.  We want to thank all of the IMCA racers who have purchased their racing products from Smiley’s and look forward to helping them any way we can.  Sponsoring IMCA is a great way to reach out and help many in the racing community.”

The home of Hoosier Tire Southwest, Smiley’s is in its 15th year overall as an IMCA sponsor and continues national decal program roles for both Northern and Southern SportMods.

Drivers in both divisions must display two Smiley’s decals on their race car to be eligible for point fund shares.

Smiley’s again gives $50 gift cards to top 10 finishers in national point standings for the Southern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts, and to top 10 drivers in the Razor Chassis South Central Region for IMCA Modifieds, the EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and the Big Daddy Race Cars Southern Region for IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.

IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers winning track or series titles receive $50 gift cards as well.

Point fund checks and gift cards will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office. Gift cards are redeemable at any of Smiley’s five locations.
